Abstract The current study is the first to investigate morphological asymmetry in three otolith features—including length, width and weight—of striped snakehead, Channa striata (Bloch, 1793), collected from Ganga River its two tributaries India. Among characteristics examined, exhibited highest level of asymmetry. Otolith was greatest specimens Yamuna (96.42), followed by those (92.52), lowest Gomti (72.52). Additionally, found that value increased with total length fish across locations. Potential explanations for observed these traits are discussed, particularly relation variations growth influenced ecological factors, including pollutants present waters rivers studied.
