Research indicates that sleep problem is a behavioral risk factor of obesity. However, few research have applied multi-dimensional approach to investigate the relationship between health and adiposity. Therefore, current study aimed examine associations characteristics (duration, quality) chronotype with overweight/obesity as measured by body mass index. Data were obtained from 2014 college students Dali University in Yunnan province China year 2021. Sleep using self-reported questionnaires. The presence was assessed anthropometric measurements. Multiple logistic regression models restricted cubic spline hazard established characteristics, After adjusting for demographic other obesity-related factors, evening type positively associated overweight/obesity, an L-shaped dose-effect observed scores overweight/obesity. duration quality not restrictive splines models. This indicated Chinese who had more likely be affected Chronotype important dimension should incorporated obesity intervention programs.

Purpose Presenting a chain mediation model to investigate whether mobile phone dependence results in reduction health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among Chinese college students, through the mediating effect chronotype and sleep quality. Design Setting A cross-sectional survey was conducted on students from university using validated structured questionnaire. Sample 2014 freshmen. Measures The study measured students’ level Self-rating Questionnaire for Adolescent Problematic Mobile Phone Use. Chronotype were by version Morningness-Eveningness (MEQ) Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), respectively. HRQoL evaluated five-level EuroQol five-dimensional questionnaire (EQ-5D-5L), including descriptive system visual analog scale (VAS). Analysis Descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis. Results had significant negative as indicated both EQ-5D-5L index score EQ-VAS ( P < .001 both). Additionally, it found significantly predict (MEQ score) β = −.546, .001) (PSQI .163, .001). negatively −.058, .001), predictor (EQ-5D-5L score, −.008, .001; −1.576, Conclusion impacts quality, there is effect. This study was intended to investigate the correlation between depression and suicidal ideation among Chinese college students during COVID-19 pandemic potential mediating roles of chronotype sleep quality in this relationship . A sample 4,768 selected from four institutions Anhui Province, China, conducted (November December 2020) using a stratified, cluster, multi-stage sampling method. used two-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-2) assess depressive symptoms, Morningness-Eveningness 19 (MEQ-19) determine individual chronotypes (i.e., morning or evening preference), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) evaluate quality. Participants were asked about ideation. MPLUS 8.3 software analyze effect on During pandemic, prevalence 5.4%. Depression inversely correlated with (beta = − 0.346, P < 0.01) positively 0.846, 0.001), indicating that experiencing symptoms more likely have later poor 0.019, 0.05) 0.066, predicted emerged as direct significant risk factor for (effect value 0.535, 95% confidence interval: 0.449 ~ 0.622). Chronotype found effects ideation; however, chain-mediating not statistically significant. Our findings suggest can precipitate through its influence These compelling highlight urgency early intervention strategies mitigate thoughts, particularly exhibiting who experience disrupted patterns

Abstract Background Several studies have previously reported the normal values of corneal volume (CV) in various populations, whereas little is known about CV distribution healthy young Chinese adults. Our study aimed to investigate and its relationships with other ocular biometric parameters among Methods A total 1645 eyes from students at Dali University Yunnan Province, China, were analyzed. Pentacam was used measure CV. Central thickness (CCT) biomechanically corrected intraocular pressure (bIOP) evaluated by Corvis-ST. Other biometrical parameters, including axial length (AL), keratometry, white-to-white (WTW) distance, measured using IOL Master. Results The mean age population 19.01 ± 0.92 years, 68.81% them women. normally distributed whole sample, a value 61.23 3.22 mm 3 . CCT significantly smaller Yi ethnic group than Han ( p < 0.01). (coefficient: 0.085; 0.001) keratometry 0.422; positively correlated CV, while AL -0.204; 0.001), WTW distance -0.236; bIOP -0.06; inversely associated Conclusions provides an age-specific CCT, AL, important factors

The rising rates of adolescent depression have become a critical concern, with family dynamics and interpersonal communication playing significant role in this mental health issue. However, research on the combined effects parental warmth trust depressive symptoms remains limited. This study aimed to explore association between warmth, trust, Chinese adolescents. sample included 2745 adolescents aged 9 18 from China Family Panel Studies (CFPS). Depressive were assessed using CES-D8 scale, which yielded an average score 4.34. Among participants, 11.3% exhibited consistent depression. Multivariate linear regression revealed that both (β = -0.296, p < 0.001) -0.197, significantly predicted lower symptoms. Mediation analysis indicated partially mediated relationship symptoms, explaining 17.68% total effect -0.032, 95% CI -0.060, -0.016). These associations remained even after controlling for demographic variables. Our findings suggest protects against enhancing protective effect. Interventions focused fostering could improve health.

Abstract Background Harsh parenting has been recognized as a risk factor for adolescent anxiety; however, the underlying mechanisms of this relationship remain unclear, and it is unknown whether influenced by different parental roles living arrangements. This study aimed to investigate mediating between harsh anxiety symptoms using multiple mediation model further compare specific distinguish Methods A total 3505 adolescents completed survey, 3295 (54.7% girls, M age = 14.97 years) were included in study. Participants self-assessments measuring parenting, self-efficacy, school connectedness, Internet addiction, sleep problems, anxiety. They categorized into three groups based on arrangements: with both parents, only mother, or father. Results Correlational analyses revealed that maternal paternal associated increased symptoms. Structural equation modeling (SEM) multigroup showed independent effects well sequential pathways involving self-efficacy → vary across adolescents’ arrangements association Conclusions elucidated linking validated The findings provide important insights developing targeted interventions address exposed parenting.

Purpose: Eye movement has been frequently studied in clinical conditions, but the association with myopia less explored, especially population-based samples. The purpose of this study was to assess associations eye measured by Corvis ST refractive status healthy university students. Methods: A total 1640 students were included (19.0 ± 0.9 years). parameters (whole [WEM]; whole time [WEMT]) ST. Spherical equivalent (SE) using an autorefractor without cycloplegia. IOL Master used axial length (AL). Results: AL negatively correlated WEM and WEMT (rWEM = −0.28, rWEMT −0.08), SE positively 0.21, 0.14). For risk high myopia, breakpoint analysis restricted cubic spline model showed that knots significant steep downward trend 0.27 mm 20.4 ms, respectively. piecewise linear regression revealed a correlation between AL, SE, when value below mm. Additionally, exceeded decrease increase observed increasing WEMT. Conclusions: larger distance longer duration lower degree shorter there threshold effect. Translational Relevance: findings might aid understanding pathogenesis provide theoretical foundation for diagnosis prediction.
