The nanostructure of the photocatalyst plays a crucial role in determining its catalytic ability. In this paper, 2D/2D WO3/ZnIn2S4 S-scheme heterojunction was successfully prepared through simple hydrogen reaction. Under UV–vis light irradiation, yield CO CO2 photoreduction process using as catalyst reached about 44.61 μmol·g–1, which 3.9 times higher than that obtained with ZnIn2S4 alone. Cycling experiments demonstrated binary composite exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity and material stability. Photoelectrochemical measurements revealed significantly enhanced separation efficiency photogenerated carriers effectively improved redox ability photocatalyst. Density functional theory calculations were employed to analyze electron transfer pathways formation built-in electric field at interface, confirming structure accelerated electrons from WO3 ZnIn2S4. further investigated by situ FTIR. Finally, possible mechanism 2D–2D interface during reaction proposed discussed.

In recent years, photocatalysis integrated with other water purification technique is emerging to decontaminate the polluted effectively. Herein, a focus on adsorptive photocatalysis, photo-Fenton, photo–electrocatalysis, photocatalytic ozonation, sono-photocatalysis and photo–piezocatalytic techniques developed for degradation of organic pollutants has been provided. Specifically, application nanocomposites in different (dyes, pesticides, antibiotics, phenolic compounds etc.,) via was reviewed. The catalytic performances along experimental parameters such as dosage, light source, irradiation time, pollutant' concentration summarized. Photocatalysis multiple also introduced. Current challenges, future perspectives conclusion this literature survey have briefed. Researchers who are working treatment might be benefited by review.

Per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been extensively employed in a broad range of manufacturing consumer goods due to their highly persistent nature. PFAS exposure is recognized pose serious health hazards; therefore, addressing pollution water has become top priority for public environmental protection organizations. This review article focuses on the efficiency different removal techniques (activated carbon, biochar, ion exchange resin, membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, metal-organic frameworks, foam fractionation, ozone destruction techniques) eliminating types short- long-chain from water. Hydrophobicity electrostatic interactions are revealed be primary mechanisms elimination PFAS. The all eradicate short-chain comparatively lower compared most efficient but some drawbacks, including formation precursors high operational costs. According findings study, it anticipated that combined methods will required effectively remediate PFAS-contaminated
