Abstract Whether trace metals modify breast density, the strongest predictor for cancer, during critical developmental stages such as puberty remains understudied. Our study prospectively evaluated association between at Tanner stage B1 ( n = 291) and both B4 253) density 2 years post‐menarche among Chilean girls from Growth Obesity Cohort Study. Dual‐energy x‐ray absorptiometry assessed volume of dense tissue (absolute fibroglandular [FGV]) percent (%FGV).
