Ammonia is a significant concern during hatchery culture in brachyuran species, and its accumulation may lead to abortive moulting large-scale deaths of the early juveniles. To date, underlying mechanism for ammonia-induced alteration process still unknown. In this study, we aimed investigate effects ammonia on as well potential mechanisms juveniles swimming crab Portunus trituberculatus, an important aquaculture species China. We evaluated survival rate juvenile crabs (C2) analyzed expression pattern genes key components molt signaling complete cycle under different concentrations nitrogen (the control group: <0.1 mg/L; LA 5 HA 20 mg/L). The results showed that: (1) groups was lower than that group at end experiment, death syndrome (MDS) only observed group; (2) higher compared (3) consistent with MIH decreased expression, related ecdysteroid synthesis, receptors, responsive effectors exhibited increased (4) although upregulated, associated receptors downstream group. Our indicated low levels can promote by inhibiting activating moult signaling, whereas high inhibit MDS through impairing signaling.

Through a 30-day experiment, this study investigated the effects of five photoperiods (0L:24D, 6L:18D, 12L:12D, 18L:6D, and 24L:0D) on survival, enzyme activity, body color, growth-related gene expression redclaw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) juveniles. The results showed that C. quadricarinatus juveniles under 18L:6D 24L:0D exhibited highest survival rate, which was significantly higher than rates other three (p < 0.05). However, 0L:24D group had final weight gain surpassing those groups Regarding activity hormone levels, photoperiod relatively superoxide dismutase (SOD), acid phosphatase (ACP), lysozyme (LZM) enzymes photoperiods, but their levels melatonin cortisol were low. In addition, malondialdehyde (MDA) content. Analysis revealed retinoid X receptor (RXR) α-amylase (α-AMY) genes in four With increasing daylight exposure, color changed from pale blue to yellow–brown. summary, achieved high rates, good growth performance, strong antioxidant stress response, immune defense capabilities an 18 h photoperiod. Therefore, industrial seedling cultivation crayfish, it is recommended provide daily light. Further, demonstrated ability manipulate through controlled artificial photoperiods. These findings essential technical parameters needed for

Macrobrachium nipponense is an economically important prawn species and common in Chinese inland capture fisheries. During aquaculture, M. can survive under freshwater low salinity conditions. The molecular mechanism underlying the response to acclimation remains unclear this species; thus, study, we used Illumina RNA sequencing platform for transcriptome analyses of gill hepatopancreas tissues exposed stress [0.4‰ (S0, control group), 6‰ (S6, 12‰ (S12, high group)]. Differentially expressed genes were identified, several adaptation-related terms signaling pathways found be enriched, such as “ion transport,” “oxidative phosphorylation,” “glycometabolism.” Quantitative real-time PCR demonstrated participation 12 key osmotic pressure regulation acute stress. Further, role carbonic anhydrase was investigated by subjecting situ hybridization. Collectively, results reported herein enhance our understanding mechanisms via which adapts changes salinity.

An 8-week feeding experiment was carried out to determine the influence of β-carotene intake on growth, biochemical, and immunological responses Macrobrachium nipponense. Five distinct formulated nutritional regimens were fed prawns with an average weight 1.37 ± 0.09 g, each containing varying levels β-carotene, including 0 (control), 50, 100, 150, 200 mg/kg. According results, growth metrics markedly increased by various (p < 0.05); however, hepatosomatic index (HSI) remained statistically unchanged compared control treatment > 0.05). Despite that, a reduction observed in most hemolymph biochemical indicators, triglycerides, urea, creatinine, uric acid Conversely, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) low-density (LDL) demonstrated notable increase comparison group Moreover, calcium, phosphorus, cholesterol did not exhibit any noteworthy differences The administration resulted significant hemato-immune indices, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine (ALT), cortisol (CORT) levels. there lysozyme (LYZ), albumin (ALB), phenoloxidase (PO), total protein (TP), hyaline cells (HCs), granular (GCs), semi-GCs (SGCs), hemocyte count (THC) within groups Furthermore, majority hepatopancreatic antioxidant parameters, malondialdehyde (MDA), catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), exhibited decrease response treatment. However, capacity (T-AOC) marked when Nonetheless, glutathione peroxidase (GPx) alkaline phosphatase (AKP) changes these experimental treatments research revealed that elevated dietary specifically at mg/kg, significantly digestive enzyme activities, carotenoid content (TCC), body chemical composition, crude lipid supplementation, populations lactic bacteria (LAB) ash unaffected Notably, corresponded elevation expression genes related immunity polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), monounsaturated (MUFAs), essential amino (EAAs) Eventually, present results indicate incorporation mg/kg pigment into oriental river prawn positively influences hematological, immunological, metabolic this species.
