Abstract Wildlife trafficking is a multibillion‐dollar illicit business that drives biodiversity loss, compromises bio‐ and national security, can threaten the safety wellbeing of local communities. A new study reveals we have profound opportunities to expand evidence about what works stop wildlife clear models inform rigorous evaluation interventions. These findings present an opportune invitation: How will conservation community fund at scale testing establish trafficking? We amplify this call urge donor governments, multilateral institutions, private foundations globally help transform way combat by dedicating least 1–3% budgets effectiveness calculate allocations based on current funding levels intervention category find would translate into global donors investing only US$2.6–5.7 million annually in testing. By reallocating small portion investments building through evaluation, significantly advance our understanding effectively trafficking.
