Pleosporales is a highly diverse (and the largest) order in Dothideomycetes, and it widespread decaying plants various environments around world. During survey of fungal diversity Sichuan Province, China, specimens hyphomycetous Thyridaria-like fungi were collected from dead branches pine trees cherry trees. These taxa initially identified as members Massarinaceae Thyridariaceae through morphological examination. Phylogenetic analyses Thyridariaceae, combining ITS, SSU, LSU, RPB2, TEF1 sequence data, indicated distinct clade sister to Pseudothyridariella Thyridariella, any genus family. Thus, new genus, Vaginospora, proposed accommodate type species Vaginospora sichuanensis, which characterized by semi-immersed globose oblong ascomata with an ostiolar neck, cylindrical clavate asci ocular chamber, hyaline dark brown, fusiform, 3–5-transversely septate ascospores inconspicuous mucilaginous sheath. Based on comparisons multi-locus phylogenetic (ITS, TEF1) Massarinaceae, we have three collections belonging Helminthosporium, leading us propose H. filamentosa sp. nov., pini velutinum host record. According analysis, formed independent austriacum yunnanense, represents closest quercinum. Helminthosporium shorter conidiophores yunnanense longer wider conidia. The differs quercinum having smaller This study extends our understanding within Helminthosporium. Our findings underscore rich biodiversity potential for discovering novel these groups.

Whilst conducting surveys of lignicolous microfungi in Yunnan Province, we collected a large number taxa that resemble Montagnula (Didymosphaeriaceae, Pleosporales). Our phylogenetic study on involved analysing sequence data from ribosomal RNA genes (nc18S, nc28S, ITS) and protein-coding ( rpb 2, tef 1-α). We present biphasic approach (morphological molecular evidence) supports the recognition four new species viz ., M. lijiangensis , menglaensis shangrilana thevetiae . The global diversity is also inferred metabarcoding published records based field observations. Poaceae emerged as significant contributor, indicating potential association between grasses. Culture-based investigations previously associations 105 plant genera (in 45 families), across 55 countries, highlighting their wide range adaptability. Although certain hypersaline endorheic lagoons in Spain have been investigated to evaluate the composition, spatial structure, and ecological roles of their macro- microbiota, fungi inhabiting these niches remain largely unexplored. In this study, we isolated several microfungi from Salada Grande de Chiprana La Playa lagoons, located Saladas (Directed Natural Reserve Ramsar Wetland) Sástago-Bujaraloz (Ramsar Wetland), respectively. As a result morphological characterization phylogenetic analysis using four informative molecular markers, report discovery two new species genus Montagnula (M.), M. globospora terricola, as well one Monosporascus (Mo.), Mo. auratispora. globospora, sediment sample lagoon, is only producing unicellular, globose ascospores inside cleistothecial ascomata with cephalothecoid peridium. terricola was originally soil Malawi (ex-type strain). However, also identified another strain collected at lagoon. The remarkable features are production non-cephalothecoid bicellular, bi-cupulate ascospores. Regarding auratispora, it sediments characterized by golden-brown that do not turn black age. Also, due results our analysis, transferred Herpotrichia striatispora Montagnula, striatispora, Montangula jonessi Neomontagnula (N.), N. jonessi.

Pleosporales, the largest order in Dothideomycetes, has a broad host range and inhabits plants as epiphytes, endophytes, parasites saprophytes. Trematosphaeriaceae is monophyletic family composed of species deviated ecological background morphological traits. In this study, we described new fungal taxon under Trematosphaeriaceae, based on root endophytic fungi recovered from desert plant Gymnocarposprzewalskii Gansu Province, China. The characterised by simple, aseptate conidia pycnidia unusually small sizes. Multilocus phylogenetic analysis, ITS, LSU, SSU TEF sequences morphology study indicated that represented genus within was named Nigromargaritatarda. Intriguingly, an intron 355 bp length located at site 453 ribosomal gene detected one strain N.tarda. Sequence analysis belongs to position class (Pcl) restricted Pleosporales. Phylogeny affiliated distribution Pcl confined or lower level, suggesting horizontal transmission pattern Pcl. This established depicted spread features less-documented amongst Pleosporales families with high resolution, which promotes our understanding origin mechanism such mobile genetic elements.
