Purpose
Recent
times
have
seen
an
increasing
emphasis
on
sustainable
development
as
a
means
of
enacting
positive
regional
change.

has
also
been
emergence
in
discussions
around
well-being
and
its
role
promoting
holistic
development,

paper
aims
to
investigate
that

ecosystem
across
South
West
ways
which
could
be
developed

further.
Design/methodology/approach
qualitative
research

semi-structured
interviews
conducted
with
participants
drawn
from

entrepreneurial
actors

Interview
data
were
analysed
using
thematic
analysis,

Findings
The
findings

Abstract
Digital

ABSTRACT
The
integration
of
legitimacy
in
entrepreneurial
ecosystem
theory
is
under‐researched,
resulting
scholarly
vagueness
about
how
entrepreneurs
acquire
resources.
Our
qualitative
study
with
31
(co‐)founders
startups
following
the
triple
bottom
line
investigates
entrepreneurs'
daily
practices
for
building
ecosystems.
We
identify
that
follow
a
sequential
process
to
build
legitimacy:
1)
engaging
and
assimilating
culture
,
2)
establishing
utilizing
networks
3)
enhancing
visibility
4)
leveraging
sustainable
mission
.
Following
this
builds
different
levels
legitimacy.
Each
level
grants
access
resources
from
ecosystem.

ABSTRACT
Sustainable
entrepreneurship
has
become
a
topic
of
increasing
attention
in
literature,
policy,
and
managerial
practice.
Yet,
the
connection
between
sustainable
entrepreneurial
action
contextual
elements
associated
with
ecosystems
which
these
individuals
are
embedded
remains
an
elusive
topic.
To
address
this
gap,
we
aim
research
to
investigate
how
entrepreneurs
combine
various
ecosystem
create
blended
value
(social,
economic,
environmental).
By
adopting
agent‐centric
perspective—data
collection
via
questionnaires
based
on
subjective
evaluations—we

deeper
into
views
concerning
impacts

by
ecosystems'
