Abstract In response to the climate crisis, there has been much focus on climate-smart agriculture (CSA); namely, technologies and practices that enhance adaptation, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contribute food security; so-called triple win. Sustainability transformations are considered to provide pathways solve current wicked problems, although empirical approaches assess their actual transformative potential still limited. In this study, we analyse a diverse set of 129 sustainability innovations in two Biosphere Reserves Germany and France (Schorfheide-Chorin Fontainebleau-Gâtinais), based on an analytical framework that characterises through actors, processes outcomes. With hierarchical cluster analysis conducted innovation outcomes, identify six archetypes: Participative Transformation Governance, New Sectors for Social-ecological Transformations, Social Sustainable Entrepreneurs, Innovations, Service Innovations Technological Efficiency Innovations. The most archetype, targets both shallow deep leverage points, while implementing amplifying strategies enhance impacts. least archetypes, e.g. target points lack strategies. The Amazon has a diverse array of social and environmental initiatives that adopt forest-based land-use practices to promote rural development support local livelihoods. Abstract Biodiversity experts now widely acknowledge that transformative change is best supported through transdisciplinary collaborations. Yet, such collaborations rarely successfully occur in major biodiversity research institutions and those do achieve the paradigmatic effects they aim to deliver. To gain some insight into this global phenomenon, we surveyed Swiss-based researchers non-academic stakeholders addressing biodiversity. In article, connect our findings patterns initiatives (TTCIs) heuristically divide collaboration barriers two categories: lack of resources vital functional elements. Two themes emerged from were continued difficulties with (1) establishing a common ‘language’, understanding, goals, (2) meaningful pluralization knowledge aimed at loss. Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and have increasing impacts, which disproportionately affect marginalised impoverished communities. This article proposes assesses a new methodological approach for developing innovative solutions based on urban data analytics to address sustainability challenges in light of changing climate conditions. Achieving sustainability in the Anthropocene requires radical changes to how human societies operate. The Seeds of Good Anthropocenes (SOGA) project has identified a diverse set existing initiatives, called “seeds,” that have potential catalyze transformations toward more sustainable pathways.
