Abstract Surface segregation method, as an in situ method for simultaneous modification of membrane external surfaces and inner pore surfaces, has been more commonly employed to fabricate antifouling membranes. In this study, dopamine (DA) with self‐polymerization bio‐adhesion ability is chosen a surface agent polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) oil‐in‐water emulsions separation through synergistically regulating phase inversion, DA, poly‐dopamine (PDA). During the inversion process, DA contacts alkaline coagulation bath trigger then PDA proceeds spontaneously. The addition can regulate process acquire membranes high porosity, result, water permeance increased from 134 538 L m −2 h −1 bar oil rejection higher than 99.8%. Because hydrophilic layer on leads robust hydration layer, exhibits super‐oleophobicity underwater excellent properties recovery ratio 99.4%. This study may open new route preparing by using small molecules agents.

Silica aerogel, as the earliest synthetic and commercially available one among all known aerogels, holds significant value in fields including thermal acoustic insulation, optics, catalysis, sorption, etc. However, throughout its nearly century-long history, influence of solvent used during synthesis on properties silica aerogels has been neglected, resulting inaccurate ambiguous performance evaluation.
