Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) has been widely used for the analyzing trace organic pollutants in environmental samples. The development of SPME technology depends on fibers with a stable, efficient, and selective coating. In this study, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were to fabricate porous carbon membranes situ SPME. composite material (UIO66-NH2@PAC) was directly carbonized prepare derivative (C-UIO66-NH2@PAC), which applied extraction off-odour first time. Zr-N co-doping not only beneficial formation derivatized carbon, but also endowed it certain hydrophilicity, highly advantageous capturing weakly polar compounds. By optimizing desorption conditions, sensitive analytical method developed, exhibited detection limit 0.61 0.78 ng L-1 2-methylisoborneol (2-MIB) geosmin (GSM), respectively, along linear range from 10 3000 L-1. Ultratrace 2-methylisoborneol (2-MIB, ∼ng/L) in source water is the main odorant algae-derived odor episodes, whose accurate on-site detection will have a promising application potential. Ensuring safe drinking water is a global priority, with pathogen control being an essential aspect. Chlorine disinfection widely adopted for its affordability and potent antimicrobial effects. However, certain bacteria, known as chlorine-resistant bacteria (CRB), can still survive in systems residual chlorine, posing risks to quality distribution systems. Their emergence, ironically, be partially attributed the very application or increased dosage of chlorine disinfectants cases, which unintentionally promoted selection adaptation CRB environment. Despite their significance, research on remains fragmented, few systematic reviews bibliometric analyses. Thus, this study addresses gap by analyzing 1367 publications (1984–2025) regarding supply (DWSSs) using CiteSpace. Important aspects including typical species, potential risks, resistance mechanisms, inactivation methods are reviewed. Contributions from key countries/institutions/journals/authors also examined. More importantly, overlooked issues like CRB’s impact taste odor (T&O) molecular mechanisms highlighted. The identification these gaps motivates further studies hazards, intrinsic control, would hopefully help delivery high-quality, worldwide.

Currently, a toxic plasticizer, di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), is recognized as ubiquitous pollutant in aquatic environments due to the massive utilization of plastics. Sensory issues have become the main obstacles to providing higher-quality drinking water. While sensory panels identified certain compounds influencing perception, extent which measured water quality impacts evaluation at population scale remains controversial, as does social impact. In this study, an investigation was conducted across eight regions in China with wide variations quality, and a novel integrated statistical approach established. The findings revealed quantitative relationship between that controlling total dissolved solids below 450 mg/L (the Chinese national standard of 1000 mg/L) can potentially improve evaluation. Significant regional differences were also guide further action.
