The construction industry, a cornerstone of global economic and social progress, is under increasing pressure to adopt sustainable practices due its significant environmental footprint. Industrial hemp (<em>Cannabis sativa</em> L.) has gained attention as renewable material for building applications, offering potential reductions in greenhouse gas emissions resource consumption. However, broader sustainability performance remains underexplored. This study develops comprehensive Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) framework evaluate the environmental, economic, implications hemp-based materials Australia. integrates life cycle assessment, costing, assessment based on ISO 14040-44 standards. Using participatory approach, 19 indicators were identified relevant through consultation with 30 stakeholders across construction, industries, academia. By addressing critical gaps methodology, this provides robust tool optimise advance net-zero practices.

Abstract In this study, we assessed the accomplishments and shortcomings of an exhaustive collection energy policies Nepal over four decades, using a five‐dimensional security framework (availability, affordability, technology, sustainability governance) for sustainable development. We adopted mixed‐method approach involving thorough review 70 policy documents (1984–2022), systematic 86 peer‐reviewed journal articles on Nepal's policy, consultations with 11 experts. Our evaluation shows that while there is progressive trend, face challenges political instability, governance issues, siloed development practices, lagging research development, inefficient demand management, heavy reliance international support. Additionally, offer tailored recommendations related stakeholders: supply‐side demand‐side multi‐sector collaboration, stability good governance. The insights provide have significant regional implications, particularly in context potential cross‐border clean electricity sharing South Asia.

Abstract Hemp ( Cannabis sativa L.) has many potential uses, including in textiles, construction, human food, animal feed, health, and personal care applications, was once widely grown the United States. Despite tremendous initial excitement hemp production expansion of acreage following its legalization 2018, there remains uncertainty risk surrounding crop; major gaps processing knowledge supply distribution chains exist because previous legal barriers. In 2023, a national survey current prospective organic growers n = 140) conducted to identify challenges associated with determine what resources information are needed support growth resilience within industry. A series focus groups were also growers, educators, industry stakeholders, researchers extensionists, business owners, advocates organizations, consultants 39). Survey respondents group participants included farmers across wide range farm types sizes, geographic areas, practices, end‐use products. Most producers surveyed growing for cannabinoid Across groups, regardless type or product, most significant related marketing, sales, regulations. these barriers, interested future; this includes expanded interest non‐cannabinoid products such as fiber, grain, seed, transplants.
