Out-of-season breeding is an effective method for addressing seasonal shortages of fry in aquaculture species such as largemouth bass (LMB) year-round production. Anti-seasonal reproduction LMB can be achieved by subjecting to prolonged low-temperature conditions; however, this affects their sperm quality and leads a decrease reproductive efficiency. Therefore, it crucial investigate issues the damage testis related mechanisms caused stress during out-of-season breeding. In experiment, we assessed changes testes time comparing testicular histomorphology, ultrastructure, hormone-related indices, antioxidant capacity, apoptosis. We synthesized measurements from three identically treated cement ponds fish exposed water temperatures 13–16°C assess testes. The results showed that (1) delayed production promoted redevelopment LMB. (2) head plasma membrane spermatozoa was separated, middle mitochondria were swollen. (3) Various hormone levels (e.g., LH, FSH, T) altered experimental period. (4) expression enzymes (cat, sod, gpx) upregulated, oxidative occurred (5) apoptosis genes bax, bcl2, caspase3) due anti-seasonal reproduction. Moreover, important mitochondrial pathway (bid, CYT-C) indicating spermatozoan probably through pathway. These suggest adversely testis. Our findings provide new insights into molecular trigger fish.

Cortisol is the main glucocorticoid released during stress responses in most fish and has been employed to investigate different stressors, including organic pollutants. This review discusses shifts cortisol concentrations examines matrix sampling methods (invasive vs. minimally or non-invasive) analytical determination techniques (immunoassays liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry). Assessments on pollutant exposure associated adverse effects are also discussed. Studies this regard may aid identifying toxicological modes of action, mechanistic response, toxicokinetics, toxicodynamics, as well pollution sources health risks fish, ultimately aiding development effective management strategies mitigate impacts pollutants populations their ecosystems.

The Brahmaputra River Basin. Basin (BRB) is the most environmentally fragile and politically unstable transboundary river basin in South Asia. Therefore, incorporating environmental sector into water-energy-food system analysis necessary to better serve water resource management BRB. Integrated resources can provide more perspectives for alleviating political tension promoting cooperation basin. This study proposes a modeling framework explore water-energy-food-environment (WEFE) nexus analyze opportunities Employing framework, we attempt answer three questions: (1) how understand relationships between various sectors coordinate their demands? (2) How do these influence riparian countries' decisions? (3) What measures promote sustainable development of BRB under climate change infrastructure development? results show that trade-off curve economic benefits costs has declining marginal value When constraints are raised, countries inclined cooperate obtain benefits. Full increases prompts take greener road among shared socioeconomic pathways (SSP126). Water project construction improve utility country, thus enhancing its discourse power on benefit reallocation.

Abstract The large use of fish meal/fish oil in carnivorous feeds is the main concern regarding environmental sustainability aquaculture. Here, we evaluated effects an innovative diet, designed to be (1) environmentally sustainable by lowering marine protein content while being (2) cost effective using alternative raw materials with acceptable and produced on industrial scale, growth performance, gut microbiota composition, health welfare European sea bass ( Dicentrarchus labrax ), a key species Mediterranean aquaculture, reared cages. Results show that specific rate fed low diet was significantly lower than those conventional (0.67% vs 0.69%). Fatty acid profile fillets from presented significant n-6 higher n-3 when compared ones. Then, increase abundance Vibrio reduction Photobacterium were found but needs further investigation. Finally, no major alterations for observed, combined potential slight benefit related humoral immunity. Overall, these results suggest despite moderately affects it nevertheless may enhance economic

Changes in the environment promote variations fish physiological responses. Genetic variation also plays a role variation. To explore of genetics variation, we assessed cardiac function (heart rate, stroke volume, and output), oxygen consumption, yolk conversion efficiency, cost development embryonic larval AB wild-type NHGRI-1 zebrafish (low heterozygosity line backcrossed from wild-type) exposed to different temperature regimes. Fish were fertilization 7 days post-fertilization (dpf) control conditions (28 °C, 21% O2) or low (23 O2), high (33 moderate hypoxia 13% severe 10% O2). We hypothesized that (1) variables will respond similarly both lines (2) data variability be lower than zebrafish. Cardiac decreased at Oxygen consumption was increased by higher fish. Yolk efficiency Cost mainly hypoxia-treated Supporting our hypothesis contributes showed significantly coefficients 84% endpoints. conclude there is strong genetic component fishes are useful models for reducing ‘noise’ backgrounds research fish, which may aid interpretation experimental results facilitate reproducibility.
