The prevalence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) ESKAPE pathogens, including Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, represents a critical global public health challenge. In response, mRNA vaccines offer an adaptable scalable platform for immunotherapy against pathogens by encoding specific antigens that stimulate B-cell-driven antibody production CD8

Infective endocarditis (IE) remains a life-threatening condition associated with high morbidity and mortality, often influenced by the complex interplay between systemic oral health. The increasing recognition of health as risk modifier has led to greater focus on microbiome, dental procedures, periodontal disease potential contributors bacteremia IE. This review critically examines relationship IE, exploring pathophysiological mechanisms, factors, evolving epidemiology disease. discussion includes diagnostic challenges, particularly in culture-negative cases, emerging role advanced imaging molecular diagnostics improving early detection. A central is placed preventive strategies, highlighting debate surrounding antibiotic prophylaxis (AP) high-risk individuals therapy reducing inflammation transient bacteremia. also addresses growing concern antimicrobial resistance necessity balancing AP recommendations stewardship. Additionally, this identifies critical research gaps, including need for longitudinal studies impact interventions IE incidence importance interdisciplinary collaboration medical professionals optimizing patient care. By synthesizing current guidelines evidence, underscores an integrated, multidisciplinary approach mitigate burden establish key pillar infection prevention.

Abstract Introduction Perioperative urinary tract infections (PUTIs) are common in the United States and a significant contributor to high healthcare costs. There is lack of large studies on risk factors for PUTIs after total hysterectomy (TH). Methods We conducted retrospective study using national inpatient sample (NIS) 445,380 patients from 2010 2019 analyze annual incidence associated with TH perioperatively. Results were found 9087 overall, showing 2.0% incidence. substantial differences based age group ( P < 0.001). Between two groups, there was consistently difference type insurance, hospital location, bed size, Patients exhibited significantly higher number comorbidities Unsurprisingly, had longer median length stay (5 days vs. 2 days; 0.001) in-hospital death rate (from 0.1 1.1%; Thus, overall hospitalization expenditures increased by $27,500 ($60,426 $32,926, as medical Elective hospitalizations less (66.8% 87.6%; According multivariate logistic regression study, following variables TH: over 45 years old; (≥ 1); size (medium, large); teaching hospital; region hospital(south, west); preoperative (alcohol abuse, deficiency anemia, chronic blood loss congestive heart failure, diabetes, drug hypertension, hypothyroidism, lymphoma, fluid electrolyte disorders, metastatic cancer, other neurological paralysis, peripheral vascular psychoses, pulmonary circulation renal solid tumor without metastasis, valvular disease, weight loss); complications (sepsis, acute myocardial infarction, deep vein thrombosis, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, pneumonia, stroke, wound infection, rupture, embolism, transfusion, postoperative delirium). Conclusions The findings suggest that identifying these can lead improved preventive strategies management patients. Counseling should be done prior surgery reduce PUTIs. manuscript adds current knowledge In practice, identification patient prevention treatment strategies. noted stay, cost, pre-existing comorbidities, hospital, hospitals, also play role UTI’s.
