There is increasing evidence that myocarditis starts as a patchy process, accordingly, the detection of segmental affection important for early recognition disease and proper initiation anti-inflammatory treatment. We present our first experience here with using speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) to detect subtle involvement left ventricle in two cases suspected myocarditis. STE consolidated diagnosis helped intravenous immunoglobulins subsequent control disease. was also able show specific topography distribution each pathogen linked inflammation.

Myocardial fibrosis is an important factor in the progression of cardiovascular diseases. However, there still no universal lifetime method myocardial assessment that has a high prognostic significance. The aim study was to determine significance ventricular endomyocardial biopsies for and identify severity different Material Methods: Endomyocardial (EMBs) 20 patients with chronic lymphocytic myocarditis (CM), fragments obtained during septal reduction 21 hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), 36 long history hypertensive ischemic heart disease (HHD + IHD) were included study. control group formed from EMBs taken on 12–14 days after transplantation (n = 28). When comparing repeat EMBs, it found first 7.6 [4.8; 12.0]%, 5.3 [3.2; 7.6]%. No statistically significant differences between primary (p 0.15). In ROC analysis, myocardium 1.1% (or lower than one) be highly specific compared patients. Conclusions: questionable role because heterogeneity fibrotic changes myocardium.
