Binge eating is a central component of two clinical disorders: binge disorder and bulimia nervosa. However, the large treatment gap highlights need to identify other strategies decrease eating. Novel pharmacotherapies may be one such approach. Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) an intestinal brain-derived neuroendocrine signal with critical role in promoting glycemic control through its incretin effect. Additionally, energy balance effects GLP-1 are well-established; activation receptor (GLP-1R) reduces food intake body weight. Aligned these beneficial metabolic effects, there GLP-1R agonists that currently used for diabetes obesity. A growing literature suggests also play important Dysregulation endogenous system associated non-human animal models, promising approach suppress overconsumption occurs during Here, we briefly discuss normal reward then review emerging evidence suggesting disruptions signaling We consider potential utility GLP-1-based reducing behavior.

INTRODUCTION: Divergent recommendations for periprocedural management of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) medications rely on limited evidence. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to provide quantitative measures gastric emptying relevant mechanisms weight loss GLP-1 RA. hypothesized that the magnitude delay would be low clinical significance procedural sedation risks. METHODS: A protocolized search identified studies RA quantified measures. Pooled estimates using random effects were presented as weighted mean difference with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Univariate meta-regression was assess influence type, short-acting vs long-acting mechanism action, duration treatment emptying. RESULTS: Fifteen met inclusion criteria. Abstract The interoception maintains proper physiological conditions and metabolic homeostasis by releasing regulatory signals after perceving changes in the internal state of organism. Among its various forms, skeletal specifically regulates bones. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a complex joint disorder involving cartilage, subchondral bone, synovium. bone undergoes continuous remodeling to adapt dynamic loads. Recent findings highlight that mediated aberrant mechanical loads contributes pathological resulting sclerosis OA. also potential mechanism for chronic synovial inflammation In this review, we offer general overview interoception, microenviroment remedeling. We discuss role abnormal OA, as well prospects challenges exploring novel OA therapies target interoception.

Abstract The central nervous system (CNS) is the most delicate in human body, with complex structure and function. It vulnerable to trauma, infection, neurodegeneration autoimmune diseases, activates immune system. An appropriate inflammatory response contributes defence against invading microbes, whereas an excessive can aggravate tissue damage. NLRP3 inflammasome was first one studied brain. Once primed activated, it completes assembly of (sensor NLRP3, adaptor ASC, effector caspase-1), leading caspase-1 activation increased release downstream cytokines, as well pyroptosis. Cumulative studies have confirmed that plays important role regulating innate immunity its inhibitors shown good efficacy animal models various diseases. In this review, we will briefly discuss biological characteristics inflammasome, summarize recent advances clinical impact infectious, inflammatory, immune, degenerative, genetic, vascular diseases CNS, potential challenges a therapeutic target for CNS

The worldwide prevalence of individuals with an elevated body weight has increased steadily over the past five decades. Billions research dollars have been invested to improve our understanding causes and consequences having weight. All this knowledge has, however, failed influence populational trajectories most countries around world. Research on definition "obesity" also evolved. Body mass index (BMI), commonly used tool make its diagnosis, major limitations. In review article, we will highlight evidence from observational studies, genetic association studies randomized clinical trials that shown remarkable inter-individual differences in way humans store energy as fat. Increasing suggests that, opposed inclusive, lifestyle-based approaches, weight-centric approaches advising people simply eat less move more are not sustainable for long-term loss maintenance. It is time recognize outdated approach may produced harm than good. On basis pathophysiological, presented review, propose it be shift away traditional approach, which BMI-centric. Rather, emphasis should placed actionable lifestyle-related risk factors aiming at improving overall diet quality increasing physical activity level general population.
