Abstract Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), including child maltreatment and other adversities in the home context beyond (e.g., witnessing domestic violence; parental mental illness; separation; living a disadvantaged neighborhood) are prevalent population often covary together. Research based on construct of ACEs has transformed field adult health, yet adolescent health been overlooked this work. This special issue Child Adolescent Psychopathology focuses developmental science psychopathology. The research presented here draws extensive evidence base that now exists regarding co-occurrence common adversities, while informing integration theory with psychopathology at large. Introduction provides an overview from perspective, emphasis key concepts recent progress spanning prenatal period through to adolescence intergenerational pathways. Models emphasize multi-dimensional nature adversity importance timing risk protective pathways, have played driving role progress. Background The effective treatment of child conduct problems is understood to rely on a range therapist competencies, yet these have rarely been an explicit focus research. In this practitioner review, we examine core competencies for the delivery evidence‐based parenting interventions in early‐to‐middle childhood. These are examined light research into common elements shared by interventions, literature regarding challenges and conceptualisations such other fields mental health. Methods We report development novel consensus‐based model practice field, based consultation with international expert panel. This includes as they apply complex presentations problems. Results Despite considerable variation among widely disseminated programmes terms content, format skills‐training practices, there strong consensus practitioners competencies. relate three broad domains: (a) generic therapeutic competencies; (b) intervention (c) specific skills/techniques. Conclusions Practitioners working problems, particularly thereof, require engaging not only mothers, but fathers diverse/non‐traditional caregivers stakeholders, interventions. Moreover, successful necessitates that extend beyond behaviour management encompass broader aspects family system wider ecology child.

Au cours de la dernière année, plusieurs articles sont parus dans presse grand public ou des revues scientifiques sur les bienfaits/méfaits mise à l'écart temporaire l'enfant, appelé « time-out » (TO). L'objectif cet article est faire une revue littérature scientifique, en exposant conclusions méta-analyses réalisées programmes éducatifs parentaux incluant le TO, et procédure du TO elle-même. Dans un second temps, seront décrites caractéristiques pour appréhender comment parents/les éducateurs pratiquent apprécier son efficacité. Les résultats montrent que n'est pas stratégie éducative isolée mais qu'il s'inscrit processus plus complet avec avant (pose cadre éducatif, règles suivre), après (debrief, explications comportements inadaptés), appelés temps-in. Il ainsi difficile d'appréhender l'efficacité sans prendre compte temporalité large seul moment où l'enfant s'y trouve.
