Emerging
research
suggests
an
uptick
in
mental
health
challenges
during
the
COVID-19
pandemic
among
university
students.
Using
a
sequential
explanatory
mixed
methods
design,
this
study
examined
first-year
students’
and
help-seeking
behaviors
pandemic.
Findings
reveal
approximately
one
third
of
students
had
needs,
but
few
sought
out
services.
Participants
described
range
barriers
across
external,
interpersonal,
intrapersonal
domains
that
influenced
whether
or
not
they
indicate
need
for
structural
changes

Abstract
Background
The
COVID-19
pandemic
has
had
a
significant
impact
on
mental
health,
with
evidence
suggesting
an
enduring
health
crisis.
Studies
worldwide
observed
increased
usage
of
antidepressants,
anxiolytics,
and
hypnotics
during
the
pandemic,
notably
among
young
people
women.
However,
few
studies
tracked
consumption
post-2021.
Our
study
aimed
to
fill
this
gap
by
investigating
whether
surge
in
number
psychotropic
drug
consumers
France
persisted
2
years
after
first
lockdown,
particularly
focusing
age
gender
differences.
Methods
We
conducted
national
retrospective
observational
based
French
insurance
database.

prescriptions

antidepressants
dispensed
pharmacies
for

2015–2022.

Abstract
Worrisome
topics,
such

climate
change,
economic
crises,
or
pandemics
including
Covid-19,
are
increasingly
present
and
pervasive
due
to
digital
media
social
networks.
Do
worries
triggered
by
topics
affect
the
cognitive
capacities
of
young
adults?
In
an
online
experiment
during
Covid-19
pandemic
(N=1503),
we
test
how
performance
university
students
responds
when
exposed
discussing
(i)
current
adverse
mental
health
consequences
restrictions
(ii)
future
labor
market
hardships
linked
contraction.
Moreover,
study
a
response
is
affected
goal.
We
find
that
topic
increases
it
motivated
goal,
consistent
with
‘tunneling
effect’
scarcity
positive
stress
effect.
However,
show
reaction
mainly
concentrated
among
larger
financial
resources,
pointing
inequality-widening
mechanism.

support
for
negative
effect

Abstract
Background
Due
to
the
COVID-19
pandemic,
traditional
face-to-face
teaching
was
disrupted,
leading
a
transition
online
activities.
Social
restrictions
and
isolation
during
this
period

physical
emotional
disorders,

as
anxiety,
depression,
reduced
perception
of
happiness,

in
overall
quality
