Antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASPs) and diagnostic (DSPs) are essential strategies for effectively managing infectious diseases tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR). These can have a complementary impact, i.e., ASPs optimize use to prevent resistance, while DSPs enhance accuracy guide appropriate treatments. This review explores the current landscape of in pediatric care, focusing on key factors, influencing their development, implementation, evaluation across various settings. A multidisciplinary approach is necessary, involving multiple healthcare professionals support comprehensive practices care. No single intervention suits all settings, or even same setting, different countries; interventions must be tailored each specific context, considering factors such as hospital capacity, patient complexity, parent–child dynamic. It educate caregivers optimal antibiotic through clear, concise messages adapted socioeconomic status level understanding. The cost-effectiveness should also assessed, standardized metrics employed evaluate success outcomes beyond just consumption, AMR rates. manuscript further discusses emerging opportunities challenges ASP offering insights into future research priorities. include large-scale studies long-term impact ASPs, assessments pediatric-specific tools, integration artificial intelligence clinical decision making. Addressing these areas will effectiveness sustainability contributing global efforts combat improve health outcomes.
