This study explores the impact of telehealth on addiction consult services (ACS) medication initiation hospitalized patients with alcohol and opioid disorders (AUD OUD). Methods We retrospectively analyzed data from adult who received their first ACS consultation in-person (pre-pandemic) (during pandemic). compared rates for AUD OUD before after consultation. Results completed 398 consults 473 consults. In-person increased 3.41% without an consult, to 45.45% consult. For pharmacotherapy initiation, 6.94% 41.67% OUD. Telehealth 5.16% 66.20% 7.53% 67.74% Buprenorphine naltrexone were most commonly initiated medications AUD, respectively. Discussion adoption by hospital during effectively OUD, consistent pre-pandemic, demonstrating its potential expand access services. approach could address current shortage providers serve underserved populations.

Objectives: Individuals with stimulant use disorders (StSUDs) present an elevated risk of cardiovascular complications compared the general population. However, it remains unclear whether, within subpopulation individuals substance (SUDs), those specifically affected by StSUDs face even higher complications. Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study using EVERSANA databank, spanning from January 2015 to December 2023. The data set comprises deidentified electronic health record aggregated and standardized across United States. Participants included patients diagnosed SUDs, encompassing alcohol, cannabis, opioids, stimulants, tobacco, hallucinogens, sedative-hypnotics, or inhalants. employed International Classification Disease 10th (ICD-10) version codes define presence StSUD SUD. Major adverse cardiac events (MACE) were assessed, Cox proportional hazard ratios adjusted high-dimensional propensity score (hdPS) matching account for potential confounders. Results: Among 137,106 SUD, 7706 (5.6%) had StSUD. was 50.2% female, 53.0% non-White, mean age 49.1 years (SD±15). After adjustment, users exhibited significantly MACE rates (HR=1.37, 95% CI: 1.22–1.53, P <0.001), including death (HR=1.23, 1.02–1.47, =0.026). Conclusion: increased nonstimulant SUDs.

Compared to males, females had higher odds (aOR = 1.45, 95% CI: 1.08–1.98). those 18–25, 26–34 were at increased for 1.99, 1.30–3.06), while ≥50 lower Lifetime other substances including cannabis 28.4, 17.1–47.2), ketamine 10.9, 1.63–73.4), LSD 3.82, 1.98–7.37), cocaine 3.77, 2.54–5.59), psilocybin 3.29, 1.75–6.16), prescription opioids 2.43, 1.44–4.09), stimulants 1.96, 1.29–2.99) associated with over 1 20 have ever ecstasy/MDMA.
