Abstract Currently, microbial infections have posed an arduous challenge to global public health, whereas the rise of antibiotic resistance is rendering traditional therapies futile, prompting development new antimicrobial technologies. Photoactive nanomaterials thus garnered a thriving interest for disinfection owing their superior antibacterial efficaciousness, favorable biosafety, and rapidness spatiotemporal precision in excreting bactericidal actions. The review summarizes recent advances emerging trends design, nanoengineering, bioapplications photoactive antimicrobials. It commences by elaborating fundamental theories on bacterial resistance, mechanisms phototherapy. Subsequently, regulation effectiveness comprehensively discussed, centering criteria strategies tuning photoabsorption spectra, photothermal conversion, photocatalytic efficiency, alongside tactics enabling synergistic therapies. This followed comparative analyses techniques modalities synthesizing engineering with diverse structures, forms, functionalities. Thereafter, state‐of‐the‐art applications phototherapies across various medical sectors are portrayed, key challenges opportunities finally discussed spur future innovations translation. envisaged provide useful guidance devising developing nanomaterials‐based photoresponsive antimicrobials application‐specific materials properties biological functions.

Abstract Developing conductor‐mediated S‐scheme heterojunction photocatalysts imitating natural photosynthetic systems emerges as a promising approach to hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O ) production. However, achieving precise coupling between two semiconductors with charge shuttle and modulating the interfacial interactions still remain significant bottleneck. Herein, we propose catalyst architecture Cd single atom mediated formed by interfacing CdS TiO nanoparticles. This exhibits an H production rate high 60.33 µmol g −1 min under UV–vis light irradiation, which is attributed efficient transport at interface of thanks S‐scheme. In‐situ X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) electron spin resonance (ESR) spin‐trapping tests confirm transfer route. Femtosecond transient absorption (fs‐TA) other ex‐situ characterizations further corroborate across interface. work offers new perspective on constructing atoms heterojunctions enhance photocatalytic performance.

Biofilms significantly impede the efficacy of conventional antimicrobial agents, particularly in multidrug-resistant (MDR) infections. In this work, we developed a size-adaptive, bismuth-based nanomicrobicide encapsulated with neutrophil membranes (Bi2S3/SNP@CM), designed to selectively generate nitric oxide (NO) within acidic biofilms under near-infrared (NIR) irradiation. The nanomicrobicide's adaptive size ensures deeper biofilm penetration and accumulation, while membrane coating enhances biocompatibility targeting at infection sites. Upon NIR irradiation, localized heating NO release synergistically eradicate MDR biofilms. Furthermore, interactions between glutathione, as well reactions ROS, disrupt intracellular redox balance, further amplifying antibacterial efficacy. Abstract As a typical representative of Metastable intermolecular composites (MICs), the energy release nano‐thermites relying on aluminum‐oxygen reaction is limited by formation high boiling point condensed phase products. Low pressure output performance constitutes another pivotal factor influencing their efficacy. In this work, metal fluorides BiF 3 at different scales were incorporated into as oxidants, thereby facilitating tunability released energy. The points all resultant products fall below combustion temperature, theoretically abolishing agglomeration condensed‐phase products, thus preventing entrapment active metals. Additionally, it facilitates smooth conduction heat flux, averting losses in biphasic flow dynamics. n‐Al/n‐BiF system exhibits significant amplification reactive kinetic properties stark contrast to n‐Al/n‐Bi 2 O system. reduction ignition threshold ascribed novel kinetics mechanism within n‐Al/BiF highly electronegative fluorine corrodes Al shell, inducing “pre‐ignition” reaction. application Density Functional Theory (DFT) evaluations has further corroborated system's preeminence electron transfer capacity between oxidizing agent and fuel, furnishing an molecular‐electronic basis for its potent properties.

Sonodynamic therapy has emerged as a spatiotemporally controllable therapeutic modality in combating triple‐negative breast cancer, yet the efficiency of sonosensitizers is limited by low energy conversion and endogenous antioxidant system. Herein, defect‐engineered nano‐sonosensitizer (MVP@HA) synthesized through situ local etching deposition vanadyl phosphate (VOPO 4 ) onto porous walls zirconium‐based porphyrin metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). VOPO partially degraded under pathological environment can effectively inhibit expression nuclear factor erythroid 2‐related 2 (Nrf2) its downstream enzymes molecules. Concomitantly, autophagy process glutathione production are impaired cascaded inhibition direct consumption, inducing multiple overcoming cellular defense. Moreover, sonosensitive catalytic oxidation MOFs enhanced generation metal defects on etching‐expanded structures promoting mass transfer substrate. The nano‐sonosensitizers show higher 1 O yield (≈2.2‐fold) than effective reduction Nrf2 (2.8‐fold). Thereby, more tumor growth achieved compared to traditional (3.45‐fold). This system significantly advances for therapy.
