Ionic liquids based on imidazolium cations have attracted attention due to their high safety and exceptional ionic conductivity. However, imidazole-based exhibit poor electrochemical stability the strong reactivity of hydrogen atoms at C-2 position imidazole cations. In this work, an liquid 1-butyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([C4C1mim][TFSA]), characterized by a methyl-substituted butyl chain, was investigated in various Li+ environments created different lithium salt concentrations fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) additives. Both optimal addition reasonable FEC enable improvement conductivity 3.32 mS cm−1 25 °C maximum window 5.21 V. The electrolyte Li[TFSA]-[C4C1mim][TFSA] molar ratio 2:8 with 5 wt% demonstrates excellent thermal stability. corresponding Li/LiFePO4 cell exhibits mitigated polarization growth (increasing from 0.12 V 0.25 over 10 cycles) initial discharge capacity 169.3 mAh g−1.

Organic ionic plastic crystals (OIPCs) are emerging as promising electrolyte materials for solid-state batteries. However, despite the fast diffusion, OIPCs exhibit relatively low DC conductivity in solid phases caused by strong ion-ion correlations that suppress charge transport. To understand origin of this suppression, we performed a study ion dynamics OIPC 1-Ethyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium bis (trifluoromethyl sulfonyl) imide [P12][TFSI] utilizing dielectric spectroscopy, light scattering, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance diffusometry. Comparison results obtained with published earlier on an completely different structure (Diethyl(methyl)(isobutyl)phosphonium Hexafluorophosphate [P1,2,2,4][PF6]) revealed similarities both systems. Unlike conductivity, which may drop more than ten times between melted phases, diffusion anions cations remains high does not show changes at phase transition. The spectra broad frequency range demonstrate unusual shapes additional step separating local motions from suppressed long-range controlling conductivity. Nanocomposite laminates containing carbon fibers, epoxy, and multiwalled nanotubes were fabricated using a vacuum bag process. Ecofriendly ionic liquid (5 wt%)-treated (pristine nickel-coated) added to the epoxy independently, in amounts ranging from 1 wt% 3 wt%, order tailor mechanical, electrical, thermal performance of manufactured fiber composite laminates. These nanocomposite later characterized through flexural testing, dynamic mechanical analysis, impedance spectroscopy, conductivity tests, FTIR spectroscopy evaluate their suitability for battery pack applications.
