The
phase
selection
mechanism
and
eutectic
growth
kinetics
of
Nb<sub>81.7</sub>Si<sub>17.3</sub>Hf
alloy
were
investigated
by
electrostatic
levitation
technique.
maximum
undercooling
this
reached
404
K(0.19<i>T</i><sub>L</sub>).
By
analyzing
the
cooling
curves,
its
hypercooling
limit
was
derived
as
527
K(0.24<i>T</i><sub>L</sub>).
A
critical
194
K
determined
for
transition
solidification
path.
Below
threshold,
(Nb)
firstly
nucleated
grew
primary
dendrites,
resulting
in
enrichment
Si
Hf
residual
melt,
which
would
be
beneficial
to
formation
(Nb)+αNb<sub>5</sub>Si<sub>3</sub>
eutectics.
Therefore,
lamellar
eutectics
formed
interdendritic
spaces.
With
increase
undercooling,
velocity
dendritic
followed
a
power
function,
while
increased
slowly.
values
89.4
mm∙s<sup>-1</sup>.

LKT/BCT
model

dendrites.

It
conducted
scientific
research
projects

fields,

as
space
life
science
biotechnology,
materials
science,
microgravity
fundamental
physics,
fluid
combustion
new
technologies,
applications.
In
this
review,
we
introduce
progress
CSS
provide
an
overview
recent
findings
several
typical
fields.
Such
compelling
mainly
concern
rapid
solidification
ultra-high
temperature
alloy
melts,
dynamics
transport
space,
gravity
scaling
law
boiling
heat
transfer,
vibration
fluidization
phenomenon
particulate
matter,
cold
atom
interferometer
technology
under
high
related
equivalence
principle
testing,
full
cycle
rice
so
forth.
Furthermore,
planned
corresponding
prospects
station
next
few
years
are
presented.
