Abstract Developing conductor‐mediated S‐scheme heterojunction photocatalysts imitating natural photosynthetic systems emerges as a promising approach to hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O ) production. However, achieving precise coupling between two semiconductors with charge shuttle and modulating the interfacial interactions still remain significant bottleneck. Herein, we propose catalyst architecture Cd single atom mediated formed by interfacing CdS TiO nanoparticles. This exhibits an H production rate high 60.33 µmol g −1 min under UV–vis light irradiation, which is attributed efficient transport at interface of thanks S‐scheme. In‐situ X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) electron spin resonance (ESR) spin‐trapping tests confirm transfer route. Femtosecond transient absorption (fs‐TA) other ex‐situ characterizations further corroborate across interface. work offers new perspective on constructing atoms heterojunctions enhance photocatalytic performance.

Abstract Borocarbonitride (BCN) materials have shown significant potential as photocatalysts for hydrogen production. However, traditional bulk BCN exhibits only moderate photocatalytic activity. In this study, we introduce an environmentally conscious and sustainable strategy utilizing biomass-derived carbon sources to synthesize nanosheets. The evolution efficiency of BCN-A nanosheets (110 μmol h −1 g ) exceeds that (12 by 9.1 times, mainly due the increased surface area (205 m 2 presence numerous active sites with enhanced charge separation capabilities. Notably, offer key advantages such sustainability, cost-effectiveness, reduced footprint during These findings highlight biomass-based nanomaterials facilitate a greener more efficient route energy, contributing global transition towards renewable energy solutions.

Abstract Semiconductor photocatalysts embedded with rare earth upconversion nanoparticles (REUPs) are a promising strategy to improve their photoresponse range, but photocatalytic performance within the near‐infrared (NIR) region is far from satisfactory. Here, method reported activity by adjusting nanocavity of inside semiconductor. Two types CdS NaYF 4 :Yb,Er core‐shell structure (no cavity) (NYE/CdS) and yolk‐shell (empty (NYE@CdS) synthesized different methods. Experimental theoretical analysis indicates that NYE@CdS can enhance local fluorescence‐induced electric field hollow cavity, realize more effective energy transfer REUPs CdS. Notably, H 2 O production reaches 0.33 mmol g −1 h under NIR light irradiation ( λ > 780 nm), exceeding most photocatalysts. This research will provide new ideas for design high‐efficiency production.

The rational design of BiOBr photocatalysts with optimized surface properties and enhanced photooxidative capacities is crucial. This study proposes a synergistic strategy combining hydroxyl-rich solvents polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) surfactants to modulate the structural electronic through solvothermal approach. resulting self-assembled microspheres demonstrated exceptional efficiency in degrading ciprofloxacin (CIP), methyl orange (MO), rhodamine B (RhB). Among synthesized variants, BiOBr-EG-PVP (fabricated ethylene glycol PVP) exhibited highest photocatalytic activity, achieving near-complete removal 20 mg/L CIP RhB within 10 min under visible light irradiation, degradation rates 60.12–101.73 times higher than pristine BiOBr. characterization revealed that (EG) not only induced formation but also introduced abundant hydroxyl groups, which simultaneously hole-mediated oxidation capabilities. incorporation PVP further promoted development hierarchical honeycomb-like synergistically both group density potential interfacial engineering. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations confirmed performance originated from an increased oxygen content. work elucidates effects surfactant modification fabrication advanced BiOBr-based photocatalysts, providing new insights for high-performance photocatalysis environmental remediation.
