Abstract For the first time, a method for synthesis of 2,3‐dihydropyrazine 1,4‐dioxide derivatives was devised. The presented approach is based on reaction N , ′‐(2,3‐dimethylbutane‐2,3‐diyl)bis(hydroxylamine) with α‐ketoaldehydes. A distinctive feature proposed protocol application sulfate aforementioned bis‐hydroxylamine in considered condensation. advantages newly developed route are one‐step synthetic procedure involving easily available starting materials, atom economy, and simple work‐up mixture. structure one obtained products confirmed by x‐ray analysis.

Nitrones are quite useful intermediates and have been broadly applied in organic synthesis, drug discovery, photochemistry research. Many functional nitrones successfully prepared using various strategies. In this work, an efficient method for synthesizing novel quinolinoneylnitrone coumarinylnitrone derivatives was developed. Preliminary mechanistic research suggests that protocol included a cascade hydroamination aza-MBH-type reaction.
