Abstract Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) plays a critical role in water splitting, which can directly determine the energy consumption of hydrogen production. However, poor stability catalysts at large current density inhibits their industrial application. Therefore, development efficient with industry‐relevant activities still faces great challenges. Herein, one‐step corrosion strategy is reported for preparation multi‐element low‐crystal transition metal hydroxide (denoted as NiFeCrMnCo‐c). Density functional theory calculation indicates that doping improves conductivity catalyst and reduces barrier catalytic process. Only 259 303 mV overpotentials are required to achieve anodic densities 100 1000 mA cm −2 respectively, it work 50 300 h without apparent attenuation. Furthermore, when self‐assembled an anion exchange membrane electrolyzer, requires only 1.72 V splitting operates stably 60 °C, meet requirements The design OER simple preparation, high activity, provides new perspective practical splitting.

Abstract The state-of-the-art anion-exchange membrane water electrolyzers (AEMWEs) require highly stable electrodes for prolonged operation. stability of the electrode is closely linked to effective evacuation H 2 or O gas generated from surface during electrolysis. In this study, we prepared a super-hydrophilic by depositing porous nickel–iron nanoparticles on annealed TiO nanotubes (NiFe/ATNT) rapid outgassing such nonpolar gases. NiFe/ATNT exhibited an overpotential 235 mV at 10 mA cm −2 oxygen evolution reaction in 1.0 M KOH solution, and was utilized as anode AEMWE achieve current density 1.67 A 1.80 V. addition, with electrode, which enables outgassing, showed record 1500 h 0.50 under harsh temperature conditions 80 ± 3 °C.

With the increasing global emphasis on green energy and sustainable development goals, electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is gradually becoming a crucial focus in research water oxidation for hydrogen generation. However, its complicated processes associated with high barrier severely limit efficiency of conversion. Recently, layered double hydroxide (LDH) has been considered as one most promising catalysts alkaline media. Nonetheless, lacking deep insight into kinetic process OER detrimental to further optimization LDH catalysts. Therefore, monitoring catalytic via surface-sensitive situ spectroscopy especially important. In particular, Raman technique capable providing fingerprint information surface species intermediates operating environment. From perspective spectroscopy, this paper provides an exhaustive overview progress characterization mechanism catalysts, theoretical guidance designing materials. Finally, we present incisive discussion challenges future trend.

Synchronous electrosynthesis of value-added adipic acid (AA) and H2 is extremely crucial for carbon neutrality. However, accomplishing the preparation AA at large current density with high selectivity still challenging. Herein, a robust Mo-doped Ni2P@Ni12P5 heterojunction more P vacancies on Ni foam proposed simultaneous electrooxidation cyclohexanol (CHAOR) to hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) density. Combined X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, absorption fine structure, electron spin resonance confirm that Mo incorporation induces charge redistribution Ni2P@Ni12P5, where adjusts electrons from P, triggers vacancies. Further experimental theoretical investigations reveal d-band center upshifted, optimizing adsorption energies water electron-rich site boosting HER activity. Besides, Ni3+ generated electron-deficient induced by Mo, alongside OH* triggered concurrently promote CHA dehydrogenation C─C bond cleavage, decreasing energy barrier CHAOR. Consequently, two-electrode flow electrolyzer achieves industrial (>230 mA cm-2) 85.7% yield, 100% Faradaic efficiency production. This study showcases an bifunctional electrocatalyst production productivity.

Abstract The NiFe‐based layered double hydroxides (LDH) undergo surface reconstruction, generating metal hydroxyl oxides that act as active species during the alkaline oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, sluggish reconstruction process and excessive oxidation at higher anodic potentials frustrate OER activity stability. Herein, a cation–anion collaborative coordination strategy is harnessed to build (Ni, Fe)─S─Zn structures in NiFe LDH on nickel foam (S‐NiFeZn LDH/NF), which lowers energy barrier aids forming highly β‐NiOOH process. Meanwhile, also optimize adsorption of oxygen‐containing intermediates, enhancing kinetics. As result, S‐NiFeZn LDH/NF achieves low overpotentials 201 mV 10 mA cm −2 293 500 1.0 m KOH. Moreover, cell assembled with anode commercial NiMo cathode demonstrates excellent overall water splitting activity, voltages 1.62 1.81 V KOH, exhibits ultralong‐term durability over h , even operating stably for 200 an electrolyzer under industrial conditions (30% KOH 80 °C).
