Crystal-glass phase transformation and glass recrystallization in zero-dimensional (0D) hybrid metal halides make them thriving X-ray scintillators with the advantages of large-area fabrication improved performance. Herein, we report three 0D copper(I) composed identical organic cations versatile self-assembly copper-iodide anions find that volumes inorganic groups are related to their lattice energies, which conformationally governed thermodynamics formation through destabilization. A subsequent heating counterparts allows bulk glass-ceramic via recrystallization, exhibiting outstanding scintillation performances (with a light yield 64 000 ph MeV–1 detection limit 72.6 nGy s–1) high stability for real-time imaging (spatial resolution above 20 lp mm–1). This multiphase strategy luminescence halide opens an exploratory way structural design engineering scintillator screens imaging.

Organic-inorganic hybrid manganese(II) halides (OIMnHs) have garnered tremendous interest across a wide array of research fields owing to their outstanding optical properties, abundant structural diversity, low-cost solution processibility, and low toxicity, which make them extremely suitable for use as new class luminescent materials various optoelectronic applications. Over the past years, plethora OIMnHs with different dimensionalities multifunctionalities such efficient photoluminescence (PL), radioluminescence, circularly polarized luminescence, mechanoluminescence been newly created by judicious screening organic cations inorganic Mn(II) polyhedra. Specifically, through precise molecular engineering, series near-unity PL quantum yields, high anti-thermal quenching excellent stability in harsh conditions devised explored applications light-emitting diodes (LEDs), X-ray scintillators, multimodal anti-counterfeiting, fluorescent sensing. In this review, latest advancements development are summarized, covers from fundamental physicochemical properties advanced applications, an emphasis on functionality design especially LEDs detection imaging. Current challenges future efforts unlock potentials these promising also envisioned.

Commercially available rare-earth-doped inorganic oxide materials have been widely applied as X-ray scintillators, but the fragile characteristics, high detection limit, and harsh preparation condition seriously restrict their wide applications. Furthermore, it remains a huge challenge to realize flexible imaging technology for real-time monitoring of curving interface complex devices. To address these issues, we herein report two isostructural cuprous halides zero-dimensional (0D) [AEPipz]CuX3·X·H2O (AEPipz = N-aminoethylpiperazine, X Br I) with controllable size nanosize crystal highly efficient scintillators toward imaging. These exhibit cyan photoluminescence radioluminescence emissions highest quantum yield 92.1% light 62,400 photons MeV–1, respectively, surpassing most commercially scintillators. Meanwhile, ultralow limit 95.7 nGyair s–1 was far below dose required diagnosis (5.5 μGyair s–1). More significantly, film is facilely assembled excellent foldability crack resistance, which further acts scintillation screen achieving spatial resolution 17.4 lp mm–1 in imaging, demonstrating potential application wearable radiation radiography. Metal halides have drawn great interest as luminescent materials and scintillators due to their outstanding optical properties. Exploring new types of phosphors with easy production processes, excellent photophysical properties, high light yields, environmentally friendly compositions is crucial quite challenging. Herein, a novel Mn(II)-based metal halide (4-BTP)2MnBr4 was produced using facile solvent evaporation method, which exhibited strong green emission peaking at 524 nm from the d–d transition tetrahedral-coordinated Mn2+ ion near-unity quantum yield. The prepared white light-emitting diode device has wide color gamut 100.7% NTSC CIE chromaticity coordinates (0.32, 0.32). In addition, demonstrates characteristics in X-ray scintillation, including yield 98 000 photons/MeV, sensitive detection limit 37.4 nGy/s, resistance radiation damage, successful demonstration imaging resolution 21.3 lp/mm, revealing potential for application diagnostic medical industry detection.

Abstract Copper‐based organic–inorganic hybrid halides (OIHHs) have garnered significant interest in X‐ray imaging due to their flexible structural adjustability, efficient light emission, strong absorption, etc. Herein, four copper‐based OIHH crystals composed of the same organic ligands (isopropyl triphenylphosphonium cations, IPP + ) and inorganic parts (Cu 2 I 4 2− are synthesized by varying ratios raw materials types reaction solvents. Although these share identical structures, they exhibit different luminescent behaviors (blue, green, white, yellow) attributed vacancy defects originating from CuI. Notably, novel (CP2) with green emission shows best luminescence efficiency (99.54%) excellent scintillation performance (50675 photons MeV −1 ). The traditional technology screens mixing scintillator powders polymers often results scattering powder aggregation inhomogeneity.
