To achieve materials exhibiting both mechanoluminescent and mechanochromic activities, an asymmetrical triphenylamine derivative, DCTPAA, containing one aldehyde group two cyano groups, was designed synthesized. DCTPAA displayed solvatochromism, with a red-shifted emission as the solvent polarity increased, indicating donor-acceptor structure's inherent property. It emitted blue fluorescence in its pristine crystal state, but exhibited green upon grinding. The could be restored after ground powder treated DCM vapor, showcasing reversible mechanochromism. XRD pattern suggested that process accompanied by phase change between crystalline amorphous states. Notably, despite centrosymmetric space of crystal, material strong mechanoluminescence emission. intermolecular packing analysis theoretical calculations demonstrated interaction should contribute to mechanoluminescence.

Here, a barbituric acid derivative containing pyrene rings (DPPT) was successfully synthesized, and two types of crystals were prepared by using crystal engineering methods. Orange sheet-like (DPPT-O, observed in visible light), DCM/CH3OH solution, exhibited brittleness weak fluorescence emission, along with sunlight-induced bending fracturing. Red needle-like (DPPT-R, also synthesized DCM/CH3CN demonstrated elastic properties, strong excellent optical waveguide performance (with an loss coefficient 0.23-0.30 dB mm-1). Single-crystal data analysis revealed that the stacking arrangement molecules critically influenced elasticity crystals, while reaction cavity size regulated photomechanical properties crystals. This study achieved effective control over sunlight responsiveness flexible transmission for first time, providing innovative insights application homogeneous organic polycrystalline molecular this field.

Abstract Two dumbbell‐shaped building blocks (TMB and TMBT), featuring methyl benzoate groups as hydrogen bond units, are selected to construct heterostructures of HOFs, aiming achieve multiple functions including white luminescence, stimulus‐response behavior, well application in information encryption.
