Abstract A Bronsted acid promoted three‐component synthesis of substituted thieno[2,3‐ b ]indole has been developed starting from indoles, alkenes or alkynes, and sulfur powder. N , ‐Dimethylformamide plays an important role to convert the materials into fused products. Various functional groups attached substrates were well tolerated afford corresponding products in moderate good yields under very simple reaction conditions. magnified image

Herein, we disclosed a highly efficient pathway toward 3-selenylated chromone derivatives via electrocatalytic cascade selenylation/cyclization/deamination of 2-hydroxyaryl enaminones with diselenides. This method showed mild conditions, easy operation, wide substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance. Furthermore, this electrosynthesis strategy was amendable to scale-up the reaction. Additionally, preliminary experiments revealed that reaction probably proceeded cation instead radical pathway.

An I2-promoted domino bicyclization approach via multiple sequential C-H functionalization was serendipitously discovered for the synthesis of 1,2-fused oxindoles from methyl ketones and anilines. This optimized, resulting in a concise atom-economical one-pot construction anilines rather than using preexisting indolin-3-ones or indoles. Mechanistic studies revealed that key step involved an oxidative cross-coupling between situ generated phenylglyoxal α,α-diaminoketone.
