Polymer dots (Pdots) have become attractive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) luminophores due to their facile synthesis, easy modification, and stable electrochemical optical properties. However, ECL efficiency is not high enough for practical applications. In this work, we proposed an immunosensor based on localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) between AuNPs Pdots the determination of pancreatic cancer exosomes. Based finite-difference time-domain simulations band energy AuNPs, possible LSPR mechanism. The hot electrons plasmonic were photoexcited states by emission Pdots, then excited transferred conduction which significantly improved Pdots. displayed a wide calibration range 1.0 × 103 106 particles/mL with detection limit 400 particles/mL. Cancer-related protein profiling revealed selectivity toward different expressions exosomal proteins from PANC-01, HeLa, MCF-7, HPDE6-C7 cell lines. system exhibits promising prospect biomarker early cancer-related diagnosis.

Abstract o ‐Carborane, a cluster compound containing boron and adjacent carbon atoms, displays intriguing luminescent properties. Recently, compounds ‐carborane units were found to show suppressed aggregation‐induced quenching intense solid‐state emission; they also potential for the development of stimuli‐responsive luminochromic materials. In this Minireview, we introduce three kinds fundamental photochemical properties: emission, twisted intramolecular charge transfer in crystals, environment‐sensitive excimer formation solids. Based on these properties, several types luminochromism, such as thermos‐, vapo‐, mechanochromism, have been discovered. mainly results from recent studies, illustrate mechanisms well unique behaviors derivatives.

Abstract Ligand‐protected gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) have emerged as a new class of electrochemiluminescence (ECL) luminophores for their interesting catalytic and emission properties, although quantum yield ( Φ ECL ) in aqueous medium is low with poor mechanistic understanding the process. Now it shown that drying AuNCs on electrodes enabled both enhanced electrochemical excitation by an electrocatalytic effect, aggregation‐induced (AIECL) 6‐aza‐2‐thiothymine (ATT) protected triethylamine (TEA) coreactant. The dried ATT‐AuNCs/TEA system resulted highly stable visual 78 %, similar enhancement was also achieved methionine‐capped AuNCs. dual‐enhancement mechanism has solved challenging problem AuNC probes, can guide further rational design emitters.

Semiconducting polymeric carbon nitride (CN) has drawn wide attention ranging from photocatalysis to more recent biosensing owing unique defect-tolerated optoelectronic properties and being metal-free, cheap, highly stable. However, at the core of electrical-optical interconversion, preparation CN photoelectrode is still challenging. Now, growth on electrodes achieved simply by microwave-assisted condensation in seconds. The ultrafast heating not only addressed thermodynamic contradiction precursor volatilization during polymerization but also led strongly adhesive layer with gradient carbon-rich texture, greatly accelerating electron-hole separation mobility. Consequently, exhibited a remarkable photocurrent record cathodic efficiency electrochemiluminescence up 7 times that benchmark Ru(bpy)3 Cl2 aqueous solution.

Gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) are attractive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emitters because of their excellent stability, near IR emission, and biocompatibility. However, ECL quantum yield is relatively low, our limited fundamental understanding has hindered rational improvement this parameter. Herein, we report drastic enhancement the ligand-stabilized AuNCs by on-electrode pre-oxidation with triethylamine (TEA) as a co-reactant. The l-methionine-stabilized resulted in record high 66 %. This strategy was successfully extended to other AuNCs, it more effective for ligand shells that allow electron transfer. In addition, excitation pre-oxidized required lower potential than conventional methods, no additional instrument required. work opens avenues solving challenging problem AuNC-based probes enriches understanding, greatly broadening applications.

Luminol-based electrochemiluminescence (ECL) can be readily excited by various reactive oxygen species (ROS) electrogenerated with an reduction reaction (ORR). However, the multiple active intermediates involved in ORR catalyzed complex nanomaterials lead to recognizing role of ROS still elusive. Moreover, suffering from absence direct electrochemical oxidation luminol at cathode and poor transformation efficiency O2 ROS, weak cathodic ECL emission is often neglected. Herein, owing tunable coordination environment structure-dependent catalytic feature, single-atom catalysts (SACs) are employed uncover relationship between intrinsic activity behavior. Interestingly, traditionally negligible first boosted (ca. 70-fold) combination via SACs chemical luminol. The exhibits electron-transfer pathway-dependent response adjusting surrounding center metal atoms a controlled way selectively produce different intermediates. This work bridges performance behavior, which will guide development amplified sensing platform through rational tailoring potential-resolved assays based on high-efficiency reported.

Abstract Copper nanoclusters (CuNCs) are attractive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emitters as Cu is comparatively inexpensive, nontoxic, and highly abundant. However, their ECL yield relatively low. Herein, we report that orderly self‐assembly of CuNCs using DNA nanoribbon the template (DNR/CuNCs) conferred with improved properties compared individual in both annihilation co‐reactant processes. The DNR/CuNCs resulted a high 46.8 % K 2 S O 8 , which was ≈68 times higher than CuNCs. This strategy successfully extended to other emitters, such gold Ru(bpy) 3 2+ /TPrA system. Furthermore, an application DNR/CuNCs, DNR/CuNC‐based biosensor sensitivity constructed for dopamine determination (two orders magnitude lower previously reported), showing have potential bioanalysis new type superior luminophore candidate.
