Aggregate Science: from Molecules, beyond Molecules

Over
the
past
centuries,
molecular
science
has
played
a
dominant
role
in
advancement
of
physical
by
exploring
structure-property
relationships
at
single
level.
However,
when
molecules
form
aggregates,
dilemma
arises
as
structures
and
properties
often
differ
significantly
from
those
constituents.
To
address
this,
concept
aggregate
emphasizes
holistic
approach
to
understanding
structures-properties
relationship
substances.
Despite
recognition
holism
research,
there
are
still
challenges
investigating
complex
operations
interplays,
particularly
newly
emergent
macroscopic
world.
Therefore,
is
need
further
advance
methodology.
In
this
regard,
perspective
highlights
three
types
influences
that
aggregation
exerts
on
substance
properties:
activation,
transformation,
emergence.
Furthermore,
examples
aggregation-induced
emission
research
related
fields
provided
illustrate
how
can
be
studied.
This
molecule
significance
also
dramatically
influenced
aggregation.
Additionally,
potential
methodologies,
such
focusing
intra-
intermolecular
interactions,
adjusting
aggregates
morphology,
regulating
constituents,
along
with
directions,
implications
offered
for
future
studies.

Endosome-lysosome

regulating
cellular
health,

dysregulation

Tracking
such
intricate
events
with
minimal
disturbance
remains
elusive
due
to
the
scarcity
of
single-component
synthetic
probes
capable
distinctly
simultaneously
labeling
both
endosomes
lysosomes.
Here,
an
amphiphilic
π-conjugated
imine
probe
is
designed
that
forms
micellar
self-assemblies
water,
called
Nano-emitter,
which
labels
lysosomes
upon
monochromatic-wavelength
excitation.
ESIPT
(Excited
State
Intramolecular
Proton
Transfer)
active
Nano-emitter
shows
red
fluorescence
at
endosomal
pH.
Its
hydrolysis
fluorescent
amine,
PEG-Naph
lysosomal
pH
illuminated
green,
amine
excitable
using
a
405
nm
confocal
laser.
The
two-color
enabled
tracking
lysosome-biogenesis
processes
living
cells.
Using
multiplexed
time-lapse
imaging
anti-cancer
drug
doxorubicin,
role
these
investigated
lysosome-mediated
doxorubicin
sequestration
MCF-7
results
show
as
well
endo-lysosomes
also
sequestered
apart
from
Interestingly,
doxorubicin-sequestered
underwent
fission
generated
more
lysosomes,
preventing
drug's
nuclear
localization.
Such
versatile

It
is
challenging
to
predict
optical
properties
of
fluorescent
dyes,
especially
in
the
crystalline
state,
owing
uncertainty
conformation,
packing,
and
coupling.
Herein,
we
elucidate
decisive
role
molecular
conformation
packing
fluorescence
emissions
some
materials
based
on
experimental
results
theoretical
calculations.
Two
homologous
fluorophores
(Ph-MP
Ph-HP)
were
synthesized,
they
both
exhibited
interesting
crystallization-induced
emission
enhancement
quenching.
Although
homologues
show
almost
same
behavior
solid
on-off
their
crystals
depends
upon
different
factors.
Emission
Ph-MP
governed
by
twisted
intramolecular
charge
transfer
effect,
while
Ph-HP
relied
π-π
stacking.

Boosting The Solid‐State Luminescence of Phenazine Derivatives by Enhancing Intermolecular Hydrogen Bonds and π–π Interactions in Cocrystals

Abstract
Six
monosubstituted
phenazine
derivatives
were
designed
and
synthesized
for
constructing
cocrystals
to
investigate
their
structure–property
relationship.
It
was
found
that
2‐substituted
phenazines
could
form
with
2,6‐dimethylphenylboronic
acid
(DBA).
These
exhibited
red‐shifted
enhanced
luminescence
relative
individual
components,
especially
2NP‐DBA
whose
efficiency
nearly
100
times
higher
than
of
2NP.
By
analyzing
the
single‐crystal
structures
hydrogen
bonds
π–π
interactions
between
molecules
detected
in
cocrystals,
which
suppressed
nonradiative
transition
pathways.
Consequently,
all
three
demonstrated
strong
continuous
interactions,
differed
from
previously
reported
enhancement
resulting
destruction
interactions.

in‐depth
investigation
these
can
not
only
provide
a
better
understanding
structure‐property
relationship

Abstract
Methanol,
an
alcohol
solvent
with
significant
roles
in
biology,
industry,
and
the
environment,
can
exert
negative
impacts
on
organisms

Therefore,
developing
efficient

methanol
detection
methods
essential
for
providing
timely

its
concentration.
In
this
work,
four
novel
small
molecule
probes
(DBZ‐H,
DBZ‐Me,
DBZ‐Bu,
DBZ‐OMe)
a
D‐A‐A‐D
structure
are
developed
distinct
fluorescence
emission
large
Stokes
shifts
different
organic
solvents
because
of
their
conjugated
push–pull
system.
