[2]-Catenanes formed from three-dimensional (3D) metal organic cages (MOCs) self-assembled transition metals and ligands, hereafter called interlocked MOCs, constitute a relatively new class of mechanically materials (MIMs) that is receiving considerable research attention. This interest mainly due to their esthetic synthetic aspects mechanical properties, but also potential applications in nanotechnological areas, including magnetic materials, guest selectivity, allosteric binding, or thermoresponsive behavior elastomeric materials. In this article, perspective on the MOCs (i.e., [2]-catenanes), covering first examples latest area presented. The emphasis methods used for preparation structure‒function correlation aspects. combination experimental techniques solution state NMR, ESI-MAS, etc.) solid-state X-ray structural data, with theoretical calculations have been very important getting rationalization results. described [2]-catenanes are bonded hollow cages, therefore they can be exploited host-guest chemistry typical enhanced physical properties ranging bonds like cage's strength dynamic behavior, which needed developing smart functional Mechanically metal–organic range nanotechnology. Here, author discusses recent progress field, structure–function relationships.

Abstract Lanthanide metal‐organic frameworks (Ln‐MOFs) exhibit distinctive emission spectra and prolonged luminescent lifetimes, thereby offering a unique platform for the advancement of solid‐state photoluminescence (PL) materials. However, mismatch between energy levels metal ions organic ligands leads to weak PL emission. Herein, this study presents pressure‐treated strategy aimed at achieving efficient green in Tb 2 (BDC) 3 (H O) 4 MOF. Compared initial intensity, intensity is enhanced eightfold below 3.1 GPa. Intriguingly, sample amplified by 2.5‐fold compared state, monochromaticity maintained. Experiments calculations reveal that hydrogen bonds are retained ambient conditions after pressure treatment. They lock conjugated configuration formed planes carboxyl group benzene ring, facilitating intersystem crossing. The reduced distances drive ligand‐to‐metal transfer process. This finding provided significant insights into structure–property relationship , new boosting enhancement Ln‐MOFs.

Abstract Efficiently assembling amino acids and peptides with bioactive molecules facilitates the modular streamlined synthesis of a diverse library peptide‐related compounds. Particularly notable is their application in pharmaceutical development, leveraging site‐selective late‐stage functionalization. Here, visible light‐induced three‐component reaction involving arylthianthrenium salts, acid/peptide derivatives, alkenes are introduced. This approach utilizes captodatively‐stabilized carbon radicals to enable radical‐radical C─C coupling, effectively constructing complex molecules. method offers promising alternative route for peptide‐derived bio‐relevant compounds
