Countless studies have documented that free play is an ideal space for children to exercise agency and become independent individuals. However, the narrative of within Canadian schools remains problematic. Drawing from relational lenses (Oswell, 2013), we adopted construct entanglement (Deleuze & Guattari, 1987) explore how children's manifested during kindergarten time. A qualitative research design utilizing action methodology (Stringer, 2014) was used invite teachers education stakeholders participate in study. Participants came together eight focus groups where teacher-researchers shared evidence about happened their classrooms. Thematic analysis (Babbie, 2010) revealed kindergarteners' entangled scenarios felt safe; further, daily encounters with time became a significant assembled piece capacity unfold. The study also indicated teachers' perceptions, allocation time, classroom spaces permitted enact expressions agency. suggests renegotiating discourse as be practiced could shift ways defined classrooms school policies.

Play has been widely examined and viewed as an effective pedagogy to promote children's literacy development. While current research identified various benefits associated with play, discrepancies still exist regarding what type of play could be more effective, for example, home or school play. This further lead outcome-oriented, positivist perception a designed intervention that risks neglecting agency in creating, negotiating, interpreting their activities. In this conceptual article, we explore the theoretical affordance concept temporal spatial scales rethink dynamic, multilayered flow meaning-making negotiation across time space. We discuss how using lens scales, can analyzed actions, processes, contexts. The methodological pedagogical implications are also illustrated practical applications education on play-based learning. Finally, article aims draw researchers educators’ attention complexity diversity well (re)constructing playfulness.

Play has always been a topic worthy of in-depth discussion in the field pedagogical research because it promotes development children's language, creative learning, physical health, social-emotional and cognitive skills. Since China's first kindergarten was established 1903, early childhood education continuously improved valued through social changes. In 21st century, Guidelines for Kindergarten Education (Trial) Pre-school (GPE) issued by Chinese Ministry 2001 emphasise integration play child-centred learning curricula. This paper systematically explores definition importance play-based curriculum China, its history, current status, challenges future directions combining nearly 40 literatures. At same time, investigates curricula different countries, revealing similarities differences educational philosophies cultural contexts. The aim this is to promote awareness education, so as achieve purpose helping children grow learn healthily joyful play. And hoped provide reference policies reforms related education.
