Abstract Emotion dysregulation (ED) describes a difficulty with the modulation of which emotions are felt, as well when and how these experienced or expressed. It is focal overarching symptom in many severe prevalent neuropsychiatric diseases, including bipolar disorders (BD), attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), borderline personality (BPD). In all disorders, ED can manifest through symptoms depression, anxiety, affective lability. Considering symptomatic similarities between BD, ADHD, BPD, transdiagnostic approach promising lens investigation. Mounting evidence supports role peripheral inflammatory markers stress multifactorial aetiology physiopathology BPD. Of note, neural circuits that regulate appear particularly vulnerable to insults inflammation, impact neuroimmune milieu central nervous system. Thus far, few studies have examined link inflammation To our knowledge, no specific work has provided critical comparison results from disorders. fill this gap literature, we review known associations mechanisms linking general, clinically, BD. Our narrative begins an examination routes followed by discussion disorder-specific accounting for methodological limitations relevant confounding factors. Finally, critically discuss both correspondences discrepancies comment on potential vulnerability therapeutic interventions.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a severe, chronic, affective characterized by recurrent switching between mood states, psychomotor and cognitive symptoms, which can linger in euthymic states as residual symptoms. Hippocampal alterations may play key role the neural processing of BD However, its dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) remains unclear. Therefore, present study explores hippocampal dFC relation to symptoms. We assessed hippocampus-based coactivation patterns (CAPs) on resting-state fMRI data 25 patients age- sex-matched healthy controls (HC).Bilateral with somatomotor networks (SMN) was reduced BD, compared HC, while at same time left hippocampus midcingulo-insular salience system (SN) higher BD. Correlational analysis CAPs clinical scores revealed that bilateral default-like network (DMN) correlated depression Furthermore, pathological hyperconnectivity default mode SMN frontoparietal (FPN) modulated BD.Overall, we observed large-scale brain associated decreased flexibility control, detection, emotion Additionally, provides new insights architecture underlying self-centered perspective environment patients. markers improve treatment, follow-up disabling depressive symptoms particular.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a highly heritable characterized by emotion dysregulation and recurrent oscillations between mood states. Despite the proven efficacy of early interventions, vulnerability markers in high-risk individuals are still lacking. BD patients present structural alterations hippocampus, pivotal hub regulation networks composed multiple subregions with different projections. However, hippocampal dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) remains unclear. We aim to investigate whether dFC subdivisions differentiates patients, offspring (BDoff), healthy controls (HC); it correlates symptoms differently these groups.

The pathophysiology of bipolar disorder (BD) remains mostly unclear. Yet, a valid biomarker is necessary to improve upon the early detection this serious disorder. Patients with manifest BD display reduced volumes hippocampal subfields and amygdala nuclei. In pre-registered analysis, we used structural MRI (n = 271, 7 sites) compare hippocampus, their subfields/nuclei between help-seeking subjects divided into risk groups for as estimated by BPSS-P, BARS EPIbipolar. We performed between-group comparisons using linear mixed effects models all three assessment tools. Additionally, aimed differentiate support vector machine. found no significant volume differences limbic structures during main analysis. However, SVM could still classify at according BPSS-P criteria balanced accuracy 66.90% (95% CI 59.2–74.6) 10-fold cross-validation 61.9% 52.0–71.9) leave-one-site-out. Structural alterations hippocampus may not be pronounced in young people risk; nonetheless, machine learning can predict above chance. This suggests that neural changes merely consequence have prognostic clinical value.

Introduction Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a life-threatening condition characterized by stenosis of intracranial arteries. Despite the frequency and impact psychiatric symptoms on long-term prognosis quality life MMD patients, no systematic review this topic exists. Methods This meta-analysis included 41 studies (29 being case reports), from PubMed, Scopus, Embase until 27/3/2023, patients exhibiting symptoms. Results fair average articles, quantitative synthesis through logistic regression was possible only for reports, due to heterogeneity between other studies. Psychosis, most frequent symptom reported in more with left hemisphere involvement. Neurological occurrence increased odds diagnosis preceding Psychiatric are highly prevalent relatively often presenting Discussion We discuss diagnostic, therapeutic, prognostic implications recognizing characterizing specific MMD, outlining preliminary guidelines targeted pharmacological psychotherapeutic interventions. Lastly, we outline future research clinical perspectives, striving enhance oft-overlooked care ameliorate their outcome. There is considerable debate as to whether the continuum of major psychiatric disorders exists and what extent boundaries extend. Converging evidence suggests that alterations in hippocampal volume are a common sign disorders; however, there still no consensus on nature atrophy schizophrenia (SZ), depressive disorder (MDD) bipolar (BD). The aim this study was verify SZ - BD MDD at level subfield compare differences subfields continuum.A total 412 participants (204 SZ, 98 MDD, 110 BD) underwent 3 T MRI scans, structured clinical interviews, scales. We segmented with FreeSurfer 7.1.1 compared volumes across three diagnostic groups by controlling for age, gender, education, intracranial volumes. The results showed gradual increase from BD. Significant hippocampus 13 26 subfields, including CA1, CA3, CA4, GC-ML-DG, molecular layer whole hippocampus, bilaterally, parasubiculum right hemisphere, were observed among groups. Medication treatment had most effect Subfield negatively correlated illness duration MDD. Positive correlations found between drug dose significant difference laterality groups. The pattern reduction may be level. represents phenotype distinct traditional strategies. Combined intervention, it better reflect shared pathophysiology mechanisms disorders.

Treatment of bipolar disorder is prone to prolongation despite various treatments, including medication. The efficacy exercise treatment (i.e., interventions involving physical and sports intervention) for major depressive disorders has been reported symptoms, cognitive function, sleep disturbances. However, its yet be established. We designed a randomized, controlled, double-blind clinical trial that includes 100 patients with aged 20–65 years. This will cluster-randomized, two-group conducted in ten psychiatric hospitals. hospitals randomly assigned an intervention + as usual (exercise) group or placebo (stretching) (control) group. Patients assessed using extensive battery tests, parameters, status, biological parameters (cytokines, neurotrophic factors), genetic (DNA RNA) at baseline after 6-week period, 10-week follow-up, 6-month follow-up. innovative study may provide important evidence the effectiveness depression based on clinical, biological, genetic, physiological markers.
