Acknowledging the potential benefits of integrating Industry 4.0 techniques into Lean Six Sigma-oriented process improvement initiatives, current literature lacks a comprehensive guideline for systematic incorporation within Sigma practices. To fill this gap, we have developed LSS4.0 framework, employing design science research approach. This framework serves as structured integration model and Sigma, aimed at assisting organizations in their journey towards implementation. Through iterative development collaboration with experts both 4.0, its associated 14-step implementation underwent evaluation using action research-based semi-structured interviews demonstrations, featuring case studies from automotive (F2) mining (F3) industries. The outcomes demonstrated substantial operational enhancements, including reduced defects, improved on-time delivery, 95% first-pass yield F2, 20% boost energy efficiency, an increase equipment effectiveness 75 to 85% operations, notable 30% decrease unplanned downtime incidents, contributing productivity efficiency while reducing maintenance costs. significantly advances knowledge offering valuable insights making meaningful contribution broader field quality management.

Abstract Unlike industrial sectors, quality of care is critical importance in the healthcare sector. Accordingly, incorporating environmental sustainability into services poses a unique challenge since hospitals must strike balance among service (i.e., clinical and patient experience), cost efficiency, footprints. However, much prior research has focused primarily on financial benefits sustainability, mainly sectors. Environmental relation to remains an underexplored topic literature. As such, it still unclear whether hospital's efforts toward will pay off mantra “reduce, reuse, recycle” may not be suitable for settings. Drawing upon premise practice‐based view, we investigate performance U.S. setting. Specifically, this study examines how practices impact its performance.
