ABSTRACT The dominant line of academic research suggests that external forces, such as institutional and stakeholder pressure, are the reasons driving companies to behave ecologically responsive. However, few studies consider intrinsic motivation cultivated based on corporate values an enterprise's engagement in ecological responsiveness. To explore this prospect further, study proposes concept generativity mindsets corporations identifies components mindset next generation, long‐term mindset, altruistic mindset. This investigated antecedents responsiveness, examined relationship among reputational demand well effect they have business performance. Data collected from 281 manufacturing is analyzed using structural equation modelling. findings indicated factors drive responsive, has a more significant than demand. Moreover, found responsiveness significantly impacts results valuable for managers cultivate employees with carry out company's sustainable development initiatives shoulder even greater social responsibility. will help exert important influence society mitigate climate crisis.
