Network Pharmacology and Bioinformatics Study of Six Medicinal Food Homologous Plants Against Colorectal Cancer

Integrating
network
pharmacological
analysis
and
bioinformatic
techniques,
this
study
systematically
investigated
the
molecular
mechanisms
of
six
medicinal
food
homologous
plants
(Astragalus
membranaceus,
Ganoderma
lucidum,
Dioscorea
opposite,
Curcuma
longa,
Glycyrrhiza
uralensis,
Pueraria
lobata)
against
colorectal
cancer.
Through
screening
TCMSP
database,
303
active
compounds
453
drug
targets
were
identified.
By
integrating
differential
expression
gene
with
WGCNA
on
GSE41258
dataset
from
GEO
49
potential
therapeutic
GO
KEGG
enrichment
analyses
demonstrated
that
these
are
primarily
involved
in
response,
fatty
acid
metabolism,
key
cancer-related
pathways.
Cross-validation
using
three
machine
learning
algorithms—LASSO
regression,
SVM-RFE,
Random
Forest—pinpointed
four
critical
target
genes:
CA1,
CCND1,
CXCL2,
EIF6.
Further,
CIBERSORT
immune
infiltration
revealed
strong
associations
between
core
genes
tumor
microenvironment
cancer
patients,
notably
modulating
M0
macrophage
mast
cell
activity.
Molecular
docking
confirmed
robust
binding
interactions
proteins.
This
elucidated
cancer,
providing
scientific
evidence
for
their
rational
clinical
application.

the
U.S.
Food
and
Drug
Administration.
Therefore,
screening

is
crucial

constantly
increasing
incidence
mortality
rate
of
cancer.
Considering
lengthy
prevention
process,
an
ideal
agent
should
be
nontoxic,
inexpensive,
oral.
Natural
compounds
become
a
natural
treasure
reservoir
for
chemoprevention
because
their
superior
ease
availability,
cost-effectiveness,
safety.
The
benefits
as
in
various
studies.
In
light
this,
present
review
intended
fully
delineate
entire
scope
chemoprevention,
primarily
focuses
on
aspects
based
compounds,
specifically
focusing
mechanism
action
prevention,
discussing
detail
how
they
exert
effects

gut
microbiome.
We
also
introduce
novel

summarize

improving
