CQDs provide unique advantages over nanoparticles natural compounds, including high biocompatibility, tunable surface functionality, environmental explores mechanisms through which impart activities, synthesis methods, functionalization optimize efficacy matrices. ABSTRACT This work presents a fluorescence sensor based on nitrogen‐doped carbon dots (N‐CDs) utilized for sequential detection of Hg 2+ and TNT. The N‐CDs were produced by simple efficient hydrothermal process involving the combination black bean extract with citric acid (CA) ethylenediamine (EDA). resulting exhibit steady blue significant quantum yield 12%. We conducted thorough investigation into mechanism which NCDs is reduced in presence . Our analyses, included Stern–Volmer quenching tests, confirmed development stable complex between When NCDs‐Hg was exposed to TNT, selectively restored. “on–off–on” sensing capacity allows monitoring both demonstrating good sensitivity selectivity. has low limit (LOD) 3.1 46 nM ions TNT linear range 0–40 0–30 μM, respectively. study emphasizes potential application detecting heavy metals explosives at same time.
