Perceived Stressful Life Events and Suicide Risk in Adolescence: The Mediating Role of Perceived Family Functioning

Aim:
Suicidal
behavior
is
a
serious
public
health
problem
and
major
cause
of
death
among
adolescents.
Three
categories
risk
factors
have
been
identified:
psychological
factors,
stressful
life
events,
personality
traits.
Severe
objective
events
(SLEs),
such
as
childhood
mistreatment
or
abuse,
clearly
associated
with
higher
rates
suicide
risk.
However,
the
relationship
between
adolescents’
perceptions
SLE
impact
not
clear.
This
paper
studies
perception
possible
mediating
role
perceived
family
functioning
in
this
relationship.

longer-term

psychiatric

adolescents

Abstract
Background
Apathy
worsens
with
age
and
cognitive
decline,
particularly
in
Alzheimer’s,
leading
to
functional
deterioration.
Comprehending
its
broad
impact
is
vital
for
customized,
preventive
treatments.
Methods
The
study
examined
214
adults
divided
three
groups—Mild
Cognitive
Impairment,
mild
controls—using
neuropsychological
tests
questionnaires,
statistical
network
analysis
explore
apathy’s
links
other
group
variables
related
demographics
treatment.
Results
Notable
differences
were
observed
among
the
groups'
performance
of
administered
tests.
While
inferential
statistics
failed

predictive
model
apathy
