The present study aimed to investigate the associations of cholecystectomy with low muscle mass, strength, sarcopenia, and sarcopenic obesity. This population-based included data from 4,909 participants aged 18 80 years. History was diagnosed using abdominal ultrasonography. Muscle mass evaluated a dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry scan, strength an electronic hand dynamometer. Sarcopenia defined as presence both strength. Sarcopenic obesity sarcopenia obesity. Multivariable logistic regression models were performed obesity.Participants history more likely than those without have sarcopenia. Furthermore, compared that occurred within 7 years (7 is median interval between physical examination), ago had higher odds Finally, whether by BMI or body fat percentage, positively associated obesity.Cholecystectomy

Background Sarcopenia is prevalent and associated with the occurrence of cardiovascular complications in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). It unknown how skeletal muscle may be aspects myocardial structure function. This study aimed to evaluate association between sarcopenia cardiac function MHD. We also examined prognostic role for mortality events (CVE) this population. Methods Participants from a single center underwent bioimpedance body composition analysis measure echocardiography assess was diagnosed based on Asian Working Group criteria. The end points were all-cause CVE. Results Of 158 participants, 46 (29.1%) had sarcopenia, 102 (64.6%) left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD), 106 (67.0%) hypertrophy (LVH). smaller right sizes (2.54 ± 0.77 vs 2.76 0.28; P < 0.01), inter-ventricular thickness (1.07 0.19 1.14 0.20; = 0.039), posterior wall (0.96, 0.89–1.10 1.06, 0.95–1.20; 0.018). Skeletal mass strongly correlated (LVM) (r 0.577; 0.0001). Furthermore, risk LVDD (OR: 4.92, 95% confidence interval (CI) [1.73–13.95]) LVH 4.88, CI [1.08–21.96]) much higher sarcopenic group than non-sarcopenic group. During follow-up period 18 months, 11 (6.9%) died, which seven died (4.4%) CVE, 36 (22.8%) experienced presence (adjusted hazard ratio (HR), 6.59; [1.08–39.91]; 0.041) low index (HR, 3.41; [1.01–11.57]; 0.049) handgrip strength 0.88; [0.78–0.99]; 0.037) independently predicted death. significant predictor CVE 10.96; [1.14–105.10]; 0.038). Conclusion Our findings demonstrated that LVH, probability death

Abstract Aims The impact of donor abdominal fat‐to‐muscle ratio (FMR) on kidney transplant (KT) outcomes was assessed. Given the transient nature donor's metabolic environment in recipients, this study investigated capacity body composition to induce memory effects. Materials and Methods KT patients ( n = 895) who received allografts from living donors (2003–2013) were included. Donor fat muscle quantified using pre‐KT computed tomography scans. Patients categorised into FMR tertiles followed up for graft outcomes. Additionally, genome‐wide DNA methylation analysis performed 28 samples low‐ high‐FMR groups. Results Mean recipient age 42.9 ± 11.4 years 60.9% males. averaged 1.67 0.79. Over a median 120.9 42.5 months, failure 127) death‐censored 109) more frequent higher tertiles. Adjusted hazard ratios highest versus lowest tertile 1.71 (95% CI, 1.06–2.75) overall 1.90 1.13–3.20) failure. Genome‐wide identified 58 differentially methylated regions p < 0.05, |Δ β | > 0.2) 35 genes showed differential between high‐ (FMR >1.91) low‐FMR <1.27) Conclusions Donors with increased reduced may negatively allograft survival possibly through transmission epigenetic changes, implying body‐composition‐related effect.

Objective: There is no study on the relationship between triglyceride-glucose index (TyG index) and skeletal muscle mass in middle-aged elderly C population. Therefore, aim of to investigate TyG weight-adjusted relative (RSMI) Methods: We retrospectively studied 947 aged ⩾40 years subjects who got a routine medical examination Department Geriatrics R Hospital from May 2021 March 2023. The RSMI was designed evaluate calculated based lean limbs(kg)/body weight(kg) × 100%. Skeletal reduction defined as 1-2 standard deviations (SD) below healthy adults 30-49 old. Considering quartile groups index, were assigned 4 groups: Q1 (less than or equal 8.171), Q2 (from 8.172 8.569), Q3 8.570 8.992), Q4 (greater 8.993). Results: With increased, levels significantly reduced( P < .001). Spearman’s correlation analysis showed that negatively correlated with males (r = −0.320) females −0.240). positively body (BMI), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic (DBP), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate (AST) ( .05). Besides, binary logistic regression risk developing reduced group 2.131 (95%CI:1.118-4.064) males; 2.472 (95%CI:1.581-3.867) compared group. Conclusion: higher associated development independently other influencing factors. promises be predictor loss.
