ABSTRACT The increase in migration and cultural diversity across various Western regions has highlighted the need to promote harmonious coexistence between those who migrate from other countries native populations. Promoting social harmony is primary objective both acculturation intergroup contact research. Particularly relevant this aim secondary transfer effect (STE), consisting spreading of effects with a outgroup attitudes towards outgroups uninvolved setting. This study aims explore STE positive African migrants (as outgroup) on behaviours natives, specifically, how these affect natives' prointegration actions refugees outgroup). To achieve objective, we also investigated two potential underlying processes: perceived moral distance, linked literature, multicultural ideology, associated preferences. We hypothesised that interactions Italian adults ( N = 280) would be prorefugee through distance their ideology. Logistic SEM analysis revealed indirect mediators, emphasising role driving behaviours.
