With the introduction of mobile applications that allow short-term rentals, electric scooters (e-scooters) are gaining popularity as a means micromobility in urban areas. The aim study was to assess circumstances and causes death traffic accidents involving Poland. inclusion criteria for were met by 9 cases (7 M,2F; mean age: 40.3 years). Accidents usually occur during working days warm months, especially morning rush hour. Usually, these involved another vehicle (4/9 cases). In addition, victim most often driver (8/9 cases) rarely uses helmet (1/9 only two did test reveal presence alcohol blood at time accident. studied cases, head injuries occurred every case, limbs chest more than half cases. Within head, addition minor like bruises epidermal abrasions, skull fractures, intracranial bleedings predominated. Similar also observed extremities, with significant fractures lower extremities. Among injuries, lung contusions common cause craniocerebral injury (6/9 cases), but there deaths each from polytrauma. To increase safety e-scooter users, it is recommended measures be taken educate users about potential risks using use helmets, e.g. through legislative action. Further studies larger groups needed correlation between risk factors fatal outcome

Shared electric scooters (e-scooters) have rapidly gained prominence as a first/last-mile mobility solution globally, with over 66,000 systems operating in 88 cities across 21 countries 2019. While recognized for their flexibility, accessibility, and environmental benefits, concerns such safety, parking issues, infrastructural challenges accompany the operation of shared e-scooter systems. This research investigates evolving perceptions users Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, comparing pre-survey results recent study following official deployment e-scooters transportation mode 2022. The analysis reveals significant shifts user behavior, preferences, perceptions. findings indicate increased familiarity e-scooters, heightened usage rates, notable changes domestic use. Furthermore, identifies variations willingness to use genders. A shift is observed riders’ perceptions, transforming from viewing primarily entertainment tools embracing them reliable transportation. show that percentage female respondents using 3% 13%, representing four times post-survey numbers. Additionally, individuals perceiving safe decreased 28.2% 14.9% current survey (post-survey) among those who had used e-scooters. regression demonstrates historical uptrend utilization juxtaposed discernible decline projected forthcoming (odds ratio [OR] = 0.74). Intriguingly, there evidence indicating an enhancement confidence towards reflected by augmented perception safety (OR 1.48).
