Abstract Glass fiber‐reinforced resin matrix composites are widely used and studied for their good mechanical impact resistance properties. In this paper, five glass fiber reinforced nylon 6 (PA6)‐based were prepared by blending combined with the molding process. The flexural strength, shear pendulum low‐velocity properties of comparatively investigated. crack extension modes characterized analyzed light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), computerized X‐ray tomography (XCT), effects different on researched. Experimental results show that: (1) Cracks in composite material mainly exist two expansion modes: transverse propagation parallel to direction layup longitudinal perpendicular layup; (2) Different will cause damage situations composites, however, mode has minimal flexural, strength composites; (3) strengths co‐reinforced using fly ash fibers preferably 484.5 46.1 MPa; (4) a significant performances material. beads (GB) had best resistance, maximum force (P max ), residual r absorbed energy (E ) 7015.2 N, 6273.6 N 15.4 J, respectively. Highlights cracks inside was observed SEM XCT etc. A relationship between established. carefully analyzed.
