Purpose This study examines the roles of cross-sectional dependence, asymmetric structure and country-to-country policy variations in inflation-poverty reduction causal nexus selected sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries from 1981 to 2019. Design/methodology/approach To account for heterogeneity across nexus, this uses robust Hatemi-J data decomposition procedures a battery second-generation techniques. These techniques include dependency tests, panel unit root slope homogeneity tests Dumitrescu-Hurlin Granger non-causality approach. Findings Unlike existing studies, country-specific findings exhibit several dimensions causality nexus. Positive inflationary shocks Granger-causes poverty through investment employment opportunities that benefit impoverished SSA. align with analyses Botswana, Cameroon, Gabon, Mauritania, South Africa Togo. Also, decline causes inflation increase Congo Republic, Madagascar, Nigeria, Senegal All reveal at least one dimension or another. Practical implications stakeholders policymakers must pay adequate attention issues structures, nonlinearities address socioeconomic problems probable between high incidence extreme double-digit rates most SSA countries. Originality/value Studies on are not uncommon economic literature. Most studies focus inflation’s effect poverty. Existing examine relationship covertly assume no nonlinearity. dependence unexplored link studies. impose homogeneous policies causality. relaxes supposition by allowing vary framework. Thus, makes three-dimensional contributions increasing understanding

Abstract Transitioning to a carbon‐neutral renewable energy (REN) option decarbonize ecosystems and mitigate carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions the negative impacts of climate change is consistent with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 7 13. Scholars have identified natural resource wealth institutions as critical factors in REN transition resource‐rich countries. Financial barriers are arguably most significant impediments transitioning REN, it more capital‐intensive costly produce, invest in, use than traditional fossil fuel‐based energy. Meanwhile, weak corruption countries culminate curse phenomenon mismanagement wealth. It implies that (weak or strong) modify rent contribution transition. This study examines the moderating role of institutional quality and its threshold in African financial development-economic complexity nexus. objective follows argument that influences system's efficiency allocating resources to innovative initiatives activities increase productivity knowledge technical capabilities an economy's production system produce complex products exports. To achieve these objectives, this adopts novel robust approaches such as generalized method moments (GMM), Driscoll-Kraay nonparametric covariance matrix estimator (DK), quantile regression, a dynamic panel analyze annual dataset 29 countries covering 1995-2020. establishes persistent evidence interdependence, intertwining, heterogeneity among countries. In addition, affirms long-run relationships variables through various estimators. Both mean-based (GMM DK) regressions consistently demonstrate development separately enhance Africa's economic across quantiles. contrast, drains development's contribution when coefficients are significant. The moment-quantile regression reveals complements support from 10th 30th quantiles, but insignificant. estimation confirms nonlinearity estimate is 5.73 on ordinal scale 10. On average, only six exceed threshold, while others operate below benchmark. Based findings, systems within weak frameworks. These phenomena allow rent-seeking, opportunism, corruption, sharp practices, which divert investments research development, human capital technology, high-tech infrastructure, entrepreneurial innovation. Thus, other scholars encouraged conduct similar for continents enrich study's outcomes. following highlights novelties: 1.) best authors' knowledge, first examine nexus Africa using estimators account cross-sectional dependence, distributional effects, heterogeneous effects (the (DK) moment regression). 2.) The long-term development goals of most countries face significant challenges in reducing emissions, improving environmental sustainability, and mitigating the negative effects climate change. This study looks at how ecological sustainability BRICS is affected by economic growth, financial development, new technologies, renewable energy consumption with mediating effect trade openness. covers years 2004–2023, it was based on fixed-effect models that use static panel data. Data were collected from World Development Indicators website. time frame for this selected basis data availability. These findings show sources, technological innovation, all have a positive impact sustainability. Nevertheless, significantly negatively impacted growth. Furthermore, openness functions as mediator between them. Based empirical evidence, paper suggests nations seek sustainable development. Moreover, government agencies need to accurately evaluate connection emission reduction when formulating programs cut emissions.

ABSTRACT There are conflicting views on the effect of business and entrepreneurial activities environmental degradation in developing economies. However, none this study examines whether economic complexity can serve as a policy tool for mitigating sustainable environment.
