Abstract Background Stress impacts healthy behaviours and may influence life health-related quality of (HRQOL). A stressful event occurred when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020. The present study aims to explore possible gender differences stress, psychosocial factors (self-efficacy, self-esteem, loneliness), pain, HL, HRQOL parents adolescents one year into pandemic, associations between gender, demographic factors, HRQOL. Methods Parents aged 16–17 took part from January February 2021, was ongoing. Data on socio-demographics, self-efficacy, loneliness, were collected. assessed using RAND-36. Results Among 320 general population, mean age 47.6 (standard deviation (SD) = 4.6) years, 81% mothers, 79% married or cohabiting, had a university degree, majority worked full time (78%) (13%). average pain score low, 0.48 (95% CI [0.43–0.54]). However, 50% reported persistent more mothers compared fathers (53% vs. 37%). parents’ for RAND-36 52.1 [51.2–53.0]) physical component summary (PCS) 51.0 [50.0–52.1]) mental (MCS) score. Mothers significantly lower scores all eight domains PCS MCS scores. Adjusting age, living condition, education, self-efficacy we revealed no stress RAND-36-PCS. University education four years positively associated (B 3.29, 95% CI: [0.78–5.80]) with RAND-36-PCS, while negatively -7.13, [-9.20– -5.06]).
