Gastric cancer (GC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, with high recurrence and mortality rate. Chemotherapy, including 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), adriamycin (ADR), vincristine (VCR), paclitaxel (PTX), platinum drugs, remains one fundamental methods GC treatment has efficiently improved patients' prognosis. However, most patients eventually develop resistance to chemotherapeutic agents, failure clinical death. Recent studies suggest that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in drug by modulating expression resistance-related genes via sponging microRNAs (miRNAs). Moreover, lncRNAs also play crucial roles a variety mechanisms, such as regulation oncogenic signaling pathways, inhibition apoptosis, induction autophagy, modulation stem cells (CSCs), promotion epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process. Some exhibit great potential diagnostic prognostic biomarkers, well therapeutic targets for patients. Therefore, understanding role their mechanisms may provide us novel insights developing strategies individual diagnosis therapy.
