Abstract Background The combination of low level laser therapy (LLLT) and nano-sized particles (NPs) chitosan (Chit) is hypothesized to be more effective in skin wound healing. A total 63 CD1 mice were divided into the normal group injured groups that subjected a 21-day course exposure (650 ± 5 nm, power density 180 mw/cm 2 ), topically applied 2% Chit NPs both. Results On day 21, healing rate reached 100% treated by plus while other single treatments did not reach this record. After 48 h, with significantly enhanced re-epithelization, granulation, inflammation, angiogenesis scores compared non-treated group. 21 days, showed improvements some histological parameters, but combined treatment exhibited complete epidermal remodeling decrease inflammatory exudate. During late phase, count RBCs hemoglobin% was increased NPs. In contrast, differential neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes markedly lower than untreated Within received significant ( P < 0.001) elevated serum levels TNF-α IL-1β Conclusions Therapy or alone beneficial effects, both accelerated displayed highest improved lesion score.
