The one-step catalytic conversion of bio-based ethanol to 1,3-butadiene is an attractive way produce this important C4 building block, be exploited as a sustainable drop-in chemical in the tire and nylon industry. For process, bifunctional catalysts combining both redox acidic properties are required. Here, we leverage non-hydrolytic sol–gel (NHSG) chemistry prepare tailored Cu–Ta–SiO2 featuring open texture, dispersed Ta sites, small Cu nanoparticles. In ether route, silicon tetrachloride tantalum pentachloride undergo polycondensation reactions with diisopropyl oxygen donor. acetamide elimination tetraacetate reacts pentakis(dimethylamido)tantalum(V). routes, copper(II) acetylacetonate added trapped tantalosilicate matrix. Upon calcination, CuO nanoparticles form resulting material develop mesoporous texture specific surface areas 650–950 m2 g–1 range, pore volumes between 0.75 0.90 cm3 g–1, average diameters above 3 nm. With help NH3-TPD, FTIR, CO- pyridine-adsorbed XRD, XPS, STEM-EDS, demonstrate that made via route show higher performance ethanol-to-butadiene reaction, low selectivity dehydration byproducts, owing moderate Lewis acidity, smaller nanoparticles, active site proximity. After optimization loadings, butadiene productivity high 0.38 gBD gcat–1 h–1 obtained, surpassing state-of-the-art similar formulations tested under reaction conditions.

This study focuses on upcycling cement kiln dust (CKD) as an industrial waste by utilizing the undissolved portion (UNP) a multicomponent catalyst for bioethylene production from bioethanol, offering environmentally sustainable solution. To maximize UNP utilization, CKD was dissolved in nitric acid, followed calcination at 500 °C 3 h oxygen atmosphere. Various characterization techniques confirmed that comprises five different compounds with nanocrystalline particles exhibiting average crystal size of 47.53 nm. The exhibited promising yield (77.1%) and selectivity (92%) 400 °C, showcasing its effectiveness converting bioethanol to outstanding properties. exceptional performance can be attributed distinctive structural characteristics, including high surface area multiple-strength acidic sites facilitate reaction mechanism. Abstract Encapsulation of metal particles into zeolites is an attractive strategy for stabilizing species. Nevertheless, most cations tend to precipitate under basic and hydrothermal conditions without the use effective anchoring agents. Herein, low‐cost diamines ethylenediamine propanediamine were selected as chelators, which stabilized Cu species then anchored them framework MFI (silicate‐1) during process. The obtained Cu@MFI−R catalyst showed >96 % ethanol conversion 98 acetaldehyde selectivity in 300 h time on stream, demonstrating superior advantages over impregnation method prepared Cu/MFI catalysts. Ni-based catalysts supported on xAl2O3–(100 – x)(Zr–Yb)O2 mixed oxides xerogel matrix with various mole ratios (x = 35 and 65% alumina), prepared by a sol–gel method, were used as (Ni/xAZ) in the ethanol dry reforming (EDR) reaction temperature range 600–750 °C different CO2/Ethanol feed molar ratios. The fresh spent characterized via X-ray diffraction (XRD), H2-TPR, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), small angle scattering (SAXS), Raman techniques. results pointed to key role of support composition (Zr:Al ratio) strength metal–support interactions natural carbon deactivation. Differences catalytic activity stability samples are associated weakly strongly interacting forms nickel their amounts depending Al/Zr ratio. highest Ni/35AZ is due presence ferromagnetic Ni0 particles formed during reduction oxide moderate interaction. higher Zr content increases Ni2+ reducibility formation its coordination form NiO high interaction defective spinel-type phase, improving resistance graphite carbonyl-type under EDR media. At 1:1 reagent mixture ratio, Ni/35AZ-1:1 was more active at 600 (43% H2 yield, 38% CO yield), best H2/CO ratio achieved 750 °C, 1.2 regardless sample composition. Increasing CO2 concentration 1.4:1 increased Ni/35AZ-1:1.4 (47% 44% yield °C), 1 T °C.

This article presents the properties of EtG synthetic fuel (Ethanol to Gasoline) as a substitute for fuels in an installation using ethanol from food waste raw material.
