Purpose:
To
systematically
assess
the
current
evidence
regarding
adjunctive
application
of
enamel
matrix
derivatives
(EMDs)
during
alveolar
ridge
preservation
(ARP)
following
tooth
extraction.
Methods:
A
comprehensive
literature
search
was
conducted
in
MEDLINE,
Cochrane
Library,
PsycINFO,
Web
Science,
Google
Scholar,
and
Scopus
to
identify
relevant
randomized
controlled
clinical
trials
(RCTs).
The
primary
outcome
parameters
this
systematic
review
were
histomorphometric
radiographic
data;
secondary
outcomes
feasibility
implant
placement
after
ARP
as
well
patient-related
such
postoperative
discomfort.
Results:

436
eligible
articles
published
from
2011
2022,
but
only
five
ultimately
included
for
data
extraction
(146
patients).
Given
substantial
heterogeneity
among
studies,

meta-analysis

be

Background

Methods

search

articles

2021

Randomized
clinical
trials
evaluating
efficacy
ABPs,
EMD,
rhBMP‐2,
rhPDGF‐BB

according
