Abstract Purpose This study aimed to evaluate the potential of Endothelin-1 (ET-1), a peptide derived from vascular endothelial cells, as biomarker for diagnosing peri-implant diseases. Methods A cohort 29 patients with total 76 implants was included in this and subsequently divided into three groups based on clinical parameters radiographic examination: healthy (peri-implant health) ( n = 29), mucositis 22), peri-implantitis 25) groups. The levels ET-1 (ρg/site) interleukin (IL)-1β sulcus fluid (PISF) samples were determined using enzyme immunoassay. Statistical analyses conducted Kruskal–Wallis Steel–Dwass tests. Logistic regression receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve performed diagnostic performance biomarkers. Results significantly elevated group compared those group, highest group. Additionally, IL-1β higher than ROC analysis indicated that exhibited superior area under values, sensitivity, specificity IL-1β. Conclusions Our findings suggest presence PISF plays role Its increased expression indicates its enabling earlier more accurate assessments inflammation when combined conventional examination methods.
